Evo 7/8 Maintenance

Did anyone changed the gear-oil yet?.

Evos got three types..front, mid & back.(ACD)

Front (3 Litre) - I use redline LSD 75/90. Price RM55 per Litre
Mid (1 Litre) - Donno yet..but my mechanic advice to use LSD 90/140. Price donno.
Rear (1 Litre) - Standard mitsubishi AYC oil..around RM55 per Litre.

Any other suggestion guys?

Some can get more mileage, some say its a bull.. maybe depends on the driving i guess. to get 350-400km/40-45liters, i think its a reasonable figure..

How did I justify my FC those days was..i refueling RM80 (almost penuh) at S. Alam and at constant driving from S. Alam NKVE until Sg. PErak R&R. Total milleage clocked was around 298km with another 1 level above a bit (bar) left on the fuel indicator.

Guess the 1 level extra would equivalent to around max of 100km milleage.

the maintainance of evo is like normal car,engine oil 6 litre,but have to change it every 5000km,every turbo charged owners know it. has to be careful about engine oil,fuel pump,MUST replace fuel pump once it has become weaker or otherwise the engine will blow,can get a fuel pump check from nearest workshop. Recommended wabro fuel pump. the brake pad is almost RM200,unless you go for endless or brembo. But the suspension is a bit troublesome,it's too hard n it dies fast. replacement is needed if the noise getting worse,new is around RM1800,used is around RM900. Fuel consumtion is around 300km/full tank(RM80)

mine engine oil is 4.5litre cost me bout rm250
gear oil front & mid cost me bout rm400
rear AYC now rm100 per litre
petrol - rm80 can only reach 260 to 270km in town drive.....maybe fuel pump big 265 sard...fuel too rich.....tuned already still same.

nice info :D but mileage wise e9 > e8 > e7 i feel :D

reason being e9 mivec turbo...helps to give better fuel consumption, e8 n e9 both has 6 speed therefore should be better in mileage, however e8 n e7 r both not having mivec thus lower....so e7 being the oldest of ct9a.....only 5 speed score the worst mileage i think hahaa but dis depends on your foot rating too

6 speed are nice to cruise on highway.....yeah E7 FC quite high....mine still so high...sigh

My stock E7 full tank (on stock ECU) FC last time could last 330km full tank. Those time I remembered, refueling full tank at Rawang Petronas (near toll), then go to Ipoh & K. Kangsar (thru old trunk road non-hway) and next refueling at Gopeng.

Now with PFC, I think the FC much2 better (on normal drive). at least 10 saving I think.

happened to me before... hard to choose between E8MR or E9.
Some people poison/support to take E8MR some E9
E8MR kinda old model & price some time could be consider (around RM160K in my place la, peninsular sure cheaper)
E9 latest model + Mivec... & price little bit high some almost reach RM200K (KK area...)

base on the advise/read/info i get from the other E owner...
get the E8MR due to nice body parts + last non Mivec model... but maybe u could find E9MR...

bottom of all depends on your heart... let it direct you which one to choose...

i choose E8MR coz it's my dream car since 2006... (before that E3....on 1999....ehheheh)
stock MR you can boost little bit high compare to the others stock...

don't look back after you choose.... just enjoy the ride you choose...
