i have a problem with my engine. bad idle. check engine light blinking shows code 4 2. refer to the gti diagnostic chart, it means crank angle sensor. what should i do. anybody can help me?

check the circuit to the sensor. Sometimes there's damage to the wire or the sensor surface is filthy.

actually where's the sensor. is it inside the distributor? should i remove the distributor first?

crank sensor normally is located at the crank pulley
the distributor 1 should be cam sensor..

problem fixed. found no.1 spark plug melt. i replace the spark plug and the check engine light clear. it happened when in a hi rev. i don't know why the spark plug melt. it happened to me 2 times. only no.1 spark plug :hmmmm:

Will it be the no1 spark cable short? It is hard to have the repeated thing happen on the same place ...

now my car cannot running fast. temperature will rise and power lost. is it not enough fuel? injector clogged?

If I'm correct, your head gasket should be faulty this moment ...... You can try to send your car to workshop and have engine compression check see all 4 cylinders have the same compression reading.
