Effect for SHORT piping exhaust?

hehe.. actually i'm using cable type like this

i show d other picture coz wanna show u guys the exhaust pipe can be splitted into 2.. thus making it shorter than normal

good share bro, mind pm-ing where u bought it from n how much? many thanks!!

i believe cable type is longer lasting than the electronic type?

i bought it at momentum sec25 s.alam.. @ RM300

i think u can get it cheaper.. just survey around

back then during late 80's-early 90's my dad used to run short pipe exit thru front left fender (before the door line) on his fire breathing twin webber 160j sss.....(PA10 model).....

yes..*really a fire breather monster when u consider the range of car of that time...even police's alfa romeo having hard time to catch-up....and the pathetic saga magma 1.5 didn't stand a chance (we knew because we rally kaki very have close rally friend that was a policeman)

and the sound was absalute orchestra....especially when the weber carbie singing in tune with the short exhaust pipe.... :driver: :proud:

actually....my dad worries on waking the JPJ guys only...so only used that exhaust about almost a year only...then revert to normal straight pipe to the rear........and the fender hole now welded shut and repainted to match....

this car still parked in the house...but need total rebuild on the body.... :adore:

having a short exhaust set up gives same effect as having different length extractor and types? ( 4-2-1 or 4-1 ). or will the short set-up just gives out different sound? hehe

iam more worroed about waking the neighbours je

You wake the neighbours, or you wake JPJ.. money can solve.. you wake the dead, money won't save you...

the electronic exhaust controller is an awesome device to put in.. i am getting the 2.5inch which comes with a Y pipe easy for installation...
that being said i could easily use a twin tip exhaust for street driving and open the butterfly valve from the device to get ur self prepare for a drag.....

thanks for the link, but mr.bill explained about the extractor length here. i was wondering about the whole set up, if the extractor-muffler ends at somewhere under the car (exiting under the door or something). normal set up vs short set up.

i think short exhaust setup produce less back pressure than a normal length setup

iam used to the dead, no big.. its the living dat iam worried about, lol

so more acceleration right? :driver: too bad its illegal

not necessarily be true

shorter piping can eliminate backpressure, improves acceleration, improve horsepower.but horsepower is not everything, a car with high horsepower does not necessarily can beat a car with lesser horsepower but with a higher torque in a straight line.

short piping, straight flow exhaust system are very good for pick up, but may affect the time of climbing to the top speed of the car. i use straight pipe, dyno'ed 140++hp (1.5 dohc), very brutal acceleration for 1500c NA engine (0-100 in 8 secs using rev speed meter) but after 150kmh, the car seems to lost its back pressure and its hard to reach the 200kmh mark.

Conclusion, good for pick up, but not top speed, improves hp but not torque.

(guys can brag with their horsepower figure, but winners do have high and steady torque)

err I'm sorry but there's a bit of a contradiction here. horsepower is a function of torque.

HP = Torque x RPM ÷ 5252

Where torque increases, hp will increase. so you can't say "improves hp but not torque". if it improves hp but not torque then the equation will be an inverse relationship.

What you mean is the powerband moves up, so there's a loss of torque in the lower regions.
