Civic ES - Any common problems?

Dear All,

I got a fren who is looking for a civic year 2004-2006 (face-lifted model).

Her salesman from Honda told her that that 1.7 model has a few common problems.

1) Problem with Air-cond (not so sure in details)

2) The doors are hard to close, need to use more power.


The salesman recommend her to get the 2.0 model rather than the 1.7 model.

As far as i know, the 1.7 and 2.0 doest not varies alot. Only different would be leather seats and different engine cc.

If 1.7 got such problem above, 2.0 using the same chasis and parts should have similar problem as well.

I know there are alot of ES club members here.. Please help me clarify these.

Hi. i'm driving 2002 1.7. yea it's true. whenever it's gonna rain or cloudy weather, air-cond got some funny smells sometimes.

as i know, the aircon for ES doesnt come with the filter. a fren of mine had the same problem. but it was solved by placing the filter. it costs round RM100++ for that aircon filter.
