dear all,

I wanna convert some karaoke MPEG to VCD *.DAT format
I tried using Nero, manage to do it but WITHOUT vocal sound function.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks :)

No need to convert. Use Nero drag and drop the .mpg, .mpeg, .avi into the application....will auto convert into VCD format for you.

which version of nero are you using? and is the codecs for mpeg standard or non standard? If its non standard then you might need to separate the audio/video channels and recombine it again. its a very very slow process unless you have like a few parallel computers doing it! takes roundabout 2 days to convert a dvd movie into 2 vcd format.

cheers

I am using Nero ver 6

May I know how to create seperate audio/video channel?

Thanks :)

Have you tried Ace Video Workshop? It has some features that you may be looking for...

why would you want to seperate the channel ?

To convert most formats, i recommend Tmpgenc (Tsunami Mpeg Encoder) but unfortunately, it's not free (but free on Overnet or Kaaza :P ). The VCD conversion you get is excellent. I'm not saying it's clearer, i'm saying it's clear as it should be. But you don't get that audio lag produced by most video converters when you playback on a VCD player. One con only... Conversion from 48khz to 44.1khz not ideal... If you want to do this, we're gonna have to open a long story.... seperate audio video? You can extract the audio using Cooledit, and the converting from 48khz to 44.1khz is sweet.. You wanna work with seperate video and audio? Try Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle Studio.

Sorry if i made it sound too complicated but... That's the work you gotta go through if you want the best... Another option, ask someone who can do it for you... I can, no prob... but lazy to get and give...

fudgie...how to convert a vcd to dvd kinda thingy, heard cd can convert to vcd but vcd to dvd how?

just convert vcd to dvd using a program(converter or encoder). Tmpgenc can do this or video editor suites(video editing suites examples, Pinnacle Studio or Adobe Premiere)
