4B engine series camshaft operation vs 4G

Hi sifu-sifus, wanna ask a quick question. I understand that the 4B series engine is different from the 4G series engine in terms of camshaft operation, where in the 4B engine, the ECU does all the management and fitting a high performance aggresive camshaft in the 4B engine won't help. I like to find out if this is true?
