I got one situation, i test drive one of the ke70 with 4age engine (140hp come frm ae92) with a rear 'big'(ppl say) axle with disc brake, i can feel that not much power come out from the engine.. the engine stil in good condition...

then i try sit on another ke70 with the same engine but not sure is the same axle or not (i think is the one they call 'small' axle).. this one i really can feel the power come out from the engine.. even this engine got blue smoke some more....

the question i wanna ask wil the axle will bring down the engine performance?? (or say like this, can't extract out all the power frm the engine?) does any expert frm here also experience this b4?? can share wit me wat's wrong in it and how to make the power out from that engine??? Thanks~~~~

How big is the big axle you are talking about...? My N/A 4AG last time was equipped with a 4.8 final diff and I was able to tailgate some turbocharged 4x4, uphill... and my car? It's stated in my signature.

it would be helpful if the code of the axle can be provided.

but generally, an axle play big part in the performance of the car, like the weight of the axle and especially the ratios. it determind how fast you can accelerate.

i'm sorry, can't provide the code for that axle.. coz tat car i'm stil in consideration to buy it... i jus heard frm the owner say that the axle is taken out frm trueno... issit got many types of axle in trueno model?????

Try get some tools and hammer the top of the stock fuel regulator a little bit (if everything is stock). That's what my mech did when my mate's 4AG KE30 was lack of power last time. Left some good long tire marks on the road after that. ;)

o rili??? then u mean that the fuel regulator also will affect the performance?? issit the stock fuel regulator not enuf pressure??

I think so...that's what I saw my mech did though. Not only to my mate's KE30, to my old junk, and his customers' car, all using the same technique. It won't give you a 20whp increment but it does help to release the power a little bit... ;)

wow...never heard tis will help, will try it out later.

i think the problem of the both car is the axle ratio different...
not big or small axle using...
is about the final drive ratio.....
just easily to imagine...
like u ride a bike u want ride it up the hill but u use wrong gear will u difficult to up the hill....

then do u know wat is the ratio for different type of axle?? i think the axle is frm trueno ae86.....

maybe its the final drive?

4age is a powerless engine...lol...
turbo turbo turbo......

there is not much ratio if is trueno axle...
4.3 / 4.1 ratio...
btw...what is size of rims u are using....

there's a few aftermarket final drive you could still buy today, mainly from techno PRO spirit and TRD.

techno pro made ratio from 3.9:1 to 4.778:1, price range from roughly rm1000 to rm1400. TRD's 5.375:1 would cost over rm3000++

hi,
the size for the rims is 15inch...... if tis 2 type of ratio will it affect too much to the engine performance??? coz it rili a different on 2 car with the same engine....

hi,
icic... issit the smaller ratio is best for the n/a engine??? the TRD come with 5.375:1 issit better for drag purpose???
