hi guys , i'm plan to buy a 4x4 pickup , storm Or Ranger ? which better ? or any other recommended ? prefer auto.. how the Fuel consumption ? Thanks

It really depends on topics like design, maintenance cost, purpose for the car as well.

Just my two cent.

the main is maintenance cost & fuel consumption ...will use as daily car , so d Fc & maintenance is main point , of course the power too . hehehe

My friend using this two pickup and their almost send to service their pickup to me.. my opinion for power& fc, u should go for ranger.. maintenance almost same :)

Thanks dieselkiki, but how much $$$ per km ? now i'm drive a toyota unser as daily car, rm86.00 on ron95 for about 380km only , every week atleast pump in 2 -3 times , so wanna find other car is fuel saving. today check with few car dealer , realiza that storm is more cheaper the selling price compare with ranger...

if ur main point is FC then u better goes to DMax .... 3.0cc diesel fill tank bout rm120 can goes up to 900km (+-)

huhh ??? rm120 can goes up to 900km+- ??? but the road tax hoe much ? must very expensive lohh....

wow ... rm1600++ , in market also got d-max 4x2 3.0 but my fren tell me that 4x2 not so good coz i always carry heavy thing... ;(
some more my budget below 60k.... ;(

Drove a ranger, triton, navara & hilux...I would say, the hilux is better in terms of fuel economy. But among all four,it is the least powerful. Reliability, i believe hilux wins hands down. That is why it is the most popular 4wd in Sarawak jungles...Navara,damn powerful...So is the fuel consumption..Range & Triton, almost the same...

the only thing that puts me off the Hilux is lowest and cheapest specs but high price.

the reason hilux has lowest and cheapest specs but the highest price (not really highest) is because it's a 'proven' product. Don't take my word for it, ask the Sabahans and 4x4 enthusiasts who use them on rough roads and steep tropical terrains.

In terms of FC go for hilux or Dmax. depends on ur usage, offroad wise, alwez take d hilux, it has d strongest undercarriage n reliable not to mention height clearance. city driven, just get d triton/navarra. Navarra would smoke all other pick ups on d road (tarmac)

Hilux and invader (Rodeo) is 1 tough 4wd vehicles. Those new model easily can crack their chassis.

D-Max has the best fuel consumption among all pick up trucks.

Navara is the most powerful

But my choice of 4wd would be Prado King TZ limited or the 2010 Cynus. Nicer look and comfortable. Forget about fuel as this baby running big cc.

4x4 owner view! I'm own Nissan Navara, I don't regret cause I can smoke all those truck easily such as prado or ninja super king!

Isuzu Dmax is champion of save diesel! 800-1100km depend on 2.5/3.0 @ 4x2/4x4

Toyota is resell value high but it's suck on 2.5 liters model! 3.0 liters is good enough! Full tanks 6xxkm+-

Ford Ranger is the outlook champion, but is very high maintance king too! Beware of heater, nozzle & fuel pump!

Mit Triton - best interior but suck of seat! Performance is below hilux 3.0! Full tanks can run 600km+-

all these can run with aftermarket chips...very good response.

i prefer hilux 3.0 or navara. dmax not really comfort

Bro now no more storm lo... Triton replaced it already.

For me, I have tried many of the 4x4 offroad due to my work in the forest. My personal choice would be: Ranger, Navara, Dmax, Hilux, Land Rover Defender 110 and lastly the ******* triton.

I let you know a bit about these trucks from my usage in terrible offroad conditions...

Ranger - Super comfortable, nice interior and comfortable springs. Feels like a car. The new one with TDCI engine is damn torquey and economical. Parts and maintenance not sure because it is quite new. We haven't replaced anything.

Navara - I haven't tried this one. Only been driven in city roads. So I can't comment on it. But I am attracted to the power

Hilux - Cheap and many parts. Tough truck. Not much problems. Most reliable. Comfort wise, it is harder than ford and Dmax but not like triton. But for the 2.5 version, the engine feels weak. I never tried the 3.0 because only auto is available.

DMax - Reasonably comfortable but not as much as ford. Reasonably powerful. Not as power as ford but much better than Hilux. Parts also cheap and plenty. The only one with "switch 4wd"

Defender 110 - Super comfort as it runs on all coil springs. Very powerful. Just a little bit slower behind ford. The engine is more powerful than ford but because of the weight and full time 4wd, it feels heavier. It looks really good like a military truck. But in terms of reliability, it is rubbish. this truck spoil the most in my field. And looking for parts is a pain. Always no parts. When we order, it takes 6 months to arrive from UK and its very expensive. Worst reliability and after sales ever. One time one of our truck's chassis crack just because the side knocked a tree :stupid:. Oh and one thing. The price of one of this truck can buy you 2 japanese trucks :stupid:

Triton - This another rubbish for off road. Maybe it is good in city. Nice interior also. Got a display that tells you fuel consumption details as you drive. But the springs are damn hard. I have used so many trucks, but this is the only car that makes me sick and wana puke in off road. It's like riding on no springs. Maybe if you use on smooth roads it is ok. Power wise, it is ok. More or less like Dmax.
