4 throttle

Thats exactly wat I'm trying to say.

Driffting requires modification also but on other aspects of the car, namely tyre, suspension and handling.

Maintanace will be inclined towards above mentioned areas of the car.

Power will become of secondary importance. Having enough to kick the tail out is enough at my novice stage.

Unlike Drag racing where power is alomost the biggest criteria.

ANd if you were to observe, whether due to cost or otherwise, the Cefiro tat drift regularly (Yes! the infamous Twin matte black Cefiros) are merely powered by RB20s.

I'm sure you have heard at one point or another tat Cefiros are grossly underpowered even on RB20s.

RB 20 in a cefiro under power still alot more powerful than 4ag in a ke-70.

Yeah. RB20 is more power, thats why they can grind their tires into goo with lots of smoke f/x.

But as I said before, U have to see to believe that most Toyota N/A drifters using 16V than any other engine.

What you decide to drop into your Corolla at the end of the day is purely on how much u want to invest. But since u already put it up on the table for people to share their opinion with you then let it be known that the majority of Toyota drifters have "migrated" to 20V setup or at least 16V + Four Throttle combo. The majority that I refer here can be seen frequenting www.club4ag.com (not the malayisan 4AG-Club). Corolla Drifters from all over the word seem have to been swept with 20V RWD phenomenon including the ever popular Moto-P (AE86 Blacktop) and his good friend Taka. You are still seeing 16V runners about because it is a LOT harder for them to get 20V motor (Silvertop even) in their countries. For Malaysia, THANK GOD we can go down to any chop-shop and find 20V motors lying about abudantly.

Why 20V?, simply because for Drift purposes u will need a motor that offer the best Throttle Response - not outright power. And most of the drifters that are still running 4A-GE16V will stay that way simply because they have already invested huge $$ to make then really grunty - but for those who about to start it would make sense to straight away run 20V.

Again it is your money and it is up to you to decide.

EFN,
Good point and well noted.

Again looking back to the main reason why I'm gonna use 16V is simplicity.

Don't wanna spend time looking for FR gearbox and axle and brakes and propeller shaft.

WOW!! it seems like 4AGE 86 hafcut very difficult to find.

Oledi gone to haf a dozen shops to find but all say none.

But FF AE92, 101 and 111 alot.

Simple fact, how many chop operator in Japan do you think wanna chop an AE86 - nowadays......"what! chop Fujiwara's car?" hahahaha you gotta be insane bebeh!

Yes. You are rite, AE86 is cult status car. No more these haf cut coming from Nippon anymore.

Even though got, the price is not logic.

Maybe have to change plan......20V maybe

Have you think of any other car which have 16v 4age which is much more cheaper than the infamous ae86...

errrrrr actually I believe Joeker has already bought a cheap TE70......just the engine part now not confirmed hahahaha

mmmm...I don want to do that because it will not be Toyota anymore.

Toyota is Toyota.

NIssan is Nissan.

when u start with 16v na. the stupid 7600rpm rev limit will pis u off.
the lack of power above 6000rpm also pis u off.. u need at lest 4 throttle +no rev limit ecu to let u pass over 8000rpm -8500rpm mod 4throttle or carburator will make alot better high rev for drifting. the throttle repond is alot better than the TVIS intake manifold.

how ever, 16v is more lasting compare to 20v. u can try using small port 4AG 140hp model with weber carb if u want to stick with 16v.

Maybe its God's will I am not to find AE86 Hafcut.

Maybe its God's will I should use 20V. :)

See how la...............

i can help u my fren.. u try to search for a T-50 gear box.
i have extra bell housing for rear wheel drive T-50 G/B next month when i bolt the supra gear box into my 7ag turbo.
if u able to find a good parts to rebuilt my whole T-50 gear box i can sell u cheaper. the problem i having for my gearbox is the g/b 2,3,4 gear is unable to downshift. have to use rpm matching technic to downshift. i will charge it very soon cos going to up boost this month.
u check from ur local shop first , if really need then i will sell ..

As for the engine, I can help u to get one unit 20V Silvertop complete with Throttle Bodies, Head, Block and the attached devices for less than RM550. I might be able to find a set of AE86 Propeller Shaft and Axle.
