3.0L to 2.5L advice and comment needed

i think it's the torque, cos final gear ratio is quite similar to VQ30. But to my surprise initially after engine change, the pickup response on 1st gear is better than my old VQ30

Finally car is back home, so far so good... just that trying to get use to the difference of torque. Anyway, anyone knows what does the power/snow switch do? any difference?

thought the power/snow is already in the 3L also, you don't see it in your original engine / dashboard?

snow will start on higher gear, if not mistaken is 2nd gear, to have less torque in the wheels. power will hold the gear longer, maybe until 5k rpm or more.

my a33 dun hv snow option. Only auto/power.

when switch to power, 2nd will drag until min 3k before it shift to 3rd gear on slow acceleration. And it change to lower gear more sensitively when you press accelerator a little faster. If you do not used to the behavior, passenger will feels uncomfortable like ridding a mad horse. This option is not advice for beginners.

While in auto, it only shift to lower gear when u 'floor' the accelerator. Hence make the ride more comfortable, and very less aggressive. Also it will shift from 2nd gear to 3rd gear before it reach 3k on slow accelerations.

thanks for the info on the power/snow switch... i will just leave it at the center and let it run haha. So far my ride seems to be guzzling up fuel quite fast. At the first quarter mark, i m only doing around 90km mark where else during my 3.0 days i get around 160 on the first quarter mark. Maybe different meter shows different reading, will see how far the mileage goes when the tank goes dry :hmmmm:

My VQ25 drinks more fuel than my previous VQ30 in city drive

What are the mileage do u guys get on your VQ25 for city driving? Mine is seriously drinking fuel like its happy hour. Full tank of city drive i get only 330km :(

Wow 330km/tank! My VQ30 doing 400~420km town driving woh...better have it check..

Maybe O2Sensor kuku-ed or leakage at the manifold causing the high FC.

yup getting it checked soon, noticed the mileage is very bad compared to a lot of other 25 or 30. Sigh. Will also look into the o2 and manifold... thanks Dream :)

There is a trick to calculate FC in a more accurate way.

First, fill up your tank until the pump gun auto stop.

Reset your trip meter to 0. Then drive as usual.

Anytime you can fill up your tank again with the very same pump (very important! not all pump stop at the same triggers.) as step 1. Say you refill your tank at 280km for 30 litres.

Calculate FC by 30litres/280km. You will get your FC in litres per km.

This method, you dun hv to dry your tank before refill to calculate FC.

Dream.tent, does manifold leakage produces sound? Like hissing sound? I suspect mine might have some problem

suspect my manifold has a leak too.... during normal drive, i tend to hear a slight hissing sound.

Advisable to use liqui moly injectors cleaner to clean my injectors since i just transplanted the engine?

I've taken Weikee's great advice to service my AFM and boy I can feel my car milleage improved alot! Thanks bro!
