well there were still lotsa datsun pick ups back in the 80s....nowadays...its quite rare oredi...

this is the facelifted square lamp B310 model

well easy...the Datsun 120y B310 comes with round lamp.....then the square lamp was when Nissan facelifted it...

other differences include a more squarish/flatter dashboard, read lamp design, bumpers and 5 speed transmission for the facelifted model....

the round lamp B310 only comes in 4 speed....

mine circular light b310 1979 come with 5speed transmission...before that year,was 4speed transmission...

one of forummer used this type of pickup for drifting..it is datsun b110 pickup...oredi sprayed pink color...i oredi forget his nickname..but if im not mistaken datsunb110..his name dexter...try to search for him..

dude, i used to drive a B310 1st version for almost 5 years....
they only comes in 4 speed...even JDM ones..

ur 5 speed could've been swapped with the facelifted one's by the previous owner...

i was around taman merdeka near the batu berendam pasar borong few days ago for work. i saw 3 decent looking abondoned 120y's with minimal rust and still in good shape without any stolen parts. 1 is the big bumpered version, another is small bumper like mine and another is the round lamp version..all b310. i wonder if there is things like the 5 speed gb, original a12 engine and many other parts that we always wanna hunt for...how i wish to buy them and if its working just put a lil bit of restoration or if cant, strip off the parts and keep them for our own car...lol :shades_smile:

i just wonder why did that abondon these such reliable workhorses :Not_Impressed:

Why these car abandoned? Failure of reliability is mostly the culprit.

The older the car ------> the more it becom unreliable ------ >the more driver becom frustrated due car problem ----------> the more abuse is directed to the car....and lastly, the car get abandoned. Simple as that.....

somehow i never feel that the reliablility of my car is a problem yet coz it has just been overhauled. i think regular maintainance helps to keep the car running...its nearing 400k kms and still with original gearbox and engine. only little little irritating bits like noisy engine and lack of convienience found in newer cars. i guess not everyone is taking preventive maintainance thus those cars will end up being abondoned. what a pity

but seriously...if u own a 120y...or simply any datsun, then u'll realise that it has lesser problems compared to other brands like toyota or mazda or whatever car of its age. i think those abondoned 120y's can be easily resurrected with some work on it..not to mention 120y parts are dirt cheap too...

how i wish i'd b able to strip their parts for my car, like tachometer, armrest and etc. which my car doesnt have. :_:

What is said is true. However, majority of drivers todays are using their car as a ride to point a to point b. only a handful of car owners are giving their undevided attention to their car. Their attention would dwindle over time.

I had the luck to purchase 2 new cars from toyota. I just love them when the cars were new then. However, the amount of attention given to the cars reduced over time. I find out that was the point when abuse toward the cars started.

But then it's just me......

130Y is a pretty good car what u can do is simple mod's that improve ur car performance such as using after market air filter, spark plug, coil and re-do your exhaust pipe from header to tail :_:
