If I am not mistaken, the japs put an SR20det into a supra to reduce the weight of it, by reducing the weight, the weight momentum of the moving supra can be reduced, which improves the stopping time.

Its easy to see.... a skidded heavy object will take a long time to stop if compared to the lighter ones..


which gen of supra is that SR20DET dropped into?! what i know is usually the nippon kui will drop a TRD 3SGT due to what u have mentioned... not SR20DET... coz it has 60% parts share with 2JZGTE... n the power produced is meet the GT500 racing spec... further more the engine mountings n brackets for both r the same... :hmmmm2:

good to hear u got a 3SGTE in ur TA23... u've done the 3SGTE RWD conversion b4... n further more u have a TA23... so it wont be hard for u to do up this monster...

for ur info... TA23 n GA61 r built on the same basic structure, the "A" chassis... of coz there have a lot of different especially the rear suspension setup which is absolutely no worry bout it... the front r almost identical (except some screw locations n minor dimension r different)... what u have done for ur TA23 front can copy exactly to ur GA61... but first of all... throw away ur Mr. Potato (no offend)...

doc to bring ur TA23 over?! hmm.m... it should be hard... u got ur ori JPJ doc... copy a set for the custom... viola, u can bring it out from the port... of coz the transportation fee is on urs... :_:

im not sure what u have done to ur 1.6 to 2.0L conversion... but it kind of direct here... in, out, stamp, pay... 1.3 to 2.0L procedure is the same as well... r u dealling with "kereta bodoh"? if so... sorry lar... cannt help...

if u worry bout the JPJ question of ur GA61 conversion... print out the relative info from internet n show them ur car chassis original is designed to handle 2.8L inline 6 engine... according to the local authority's (JPJ) spec... it can handle up to 3.5L (25% of the ori)... who is interested to drop in toy's NEW IS350 engine?! :mouth_closed: so... 2JZ is also not a problem for u... :regular_smile:

Anyone know where to find Chop Shop have 1jz (vvti) halfcut. My cousin just searching this engine URGENT. TQ

i have a fully loaded 7mgte MKIII supra fcut if anyone interested
1) EARL's oil cooler
2) Full HKS PFC system
3) Gauges oil temp, water and pressure
4) GReddy boost controller
5) Pivot AR meter

many more... i think the japs modded it for WANGAN MIDNIGHT sessions... but it is auto tranny....

Also 3sge Beams VVTi- RM 7k manual.... full front and rear cut (Altezza)

checked out with other markII kaki and they said that JZX90 rear diff cannot be used to JZX81/LX80 ... a bit short

by the way ... gimme ur e-mail address if u wanna have a look at it ... the seller did send me the pics ...

Ru refering to supra mk3 coz I tot 1JZ only comes with only manual R154 transmission but never has 6 speed getrag transmission? Supra MK4 comes with W58 & 6 speed Getrag for manual transmission.

By the way which chop shop has this coz i'm interested and wats the price? :shades_smile:

if u decided to mod the 1JZGTE till it max performance...
better get the supra halfcut...
althought it doesnt come with VVT-i but it comes with 6sp MT... but u may face ur RPM meter malfunction coz both r using different RPM signal...


if u still want a VVT-i 1JZGTE... then u have to look for a separate 6sp or 5sp MT tranny... no point to mod a AT car coz the AT tranny will slip away most of ur torque n hp... usually u need to book the 6sp tranny from the halfcut shop... n william knows how to disable the AT function of the ECU n use it with MT tranny...

i dont think any RWD daihatsu car engine compartment is long enough to drop in a 6 cylinders motor... galant is 100% can drop in coz it has plenty of space... my friend did that with 2JZGTE... but nvr register with JPJ...

nope... im refer to 1JZGTE with 6sp MT halfcut in MKIV a year back but i doubt it is not the ori spec... who's know nihonjin's spec... may b is special edition or special build or etc...

found a MKIV 2JZGTE 6sp MT halfcut at kepong area 4 mths ago (sorry dude, friend brought me there, im not familiar with northern kl area)... not sure it is still there or not... also found 1JZGTE VVTi AT on the floor, 3SGE black top MT altezza halfcut, 3SGE red top celica SSIII MT halfcut, 3SGTE ST205 MT halfcut, S2000 MT halfcut... and very surprise saw a 280hp S15 - SR20VET 6sp MT too... look very ori but i dont think nissan assembly any SR20VET in S15... like i said, nihonjin's spec is really confusing... :confused_smile:
