FPR Tuning for CAMPRO S4PH

Drex,
You replaced it with the same series is it? Does he drive the same car as mine?

If you the expert already clueless, I lagi la.
Scared to trial & error edi. Nanti warranty void.

He drives a Neo too. I replaced the diaphragm.

Supplier advices to not do anything silly as long as it's funtioning, with constant pressure.

They ar taking serious action in identifying and rectifying the problem and there will be a recall.

2010 is the year of recall i guess. :P

st3305m : I have a feeling you're right. I tried to adjust the level higher than 3.6 Bar, the whistle just got louder.

Jerry_ann : Hows your problem? is it solved?

as i told u before...I've changed my fpr 3 times(claim warranty) meaning i used works fpr 4 unit ody...when i changed to other brand like arospeed...da problem is gone...

haha...i wait for your recall then...

it's shameful for such a reputable brand to face such problem.

Yeah. Just when I was about to love its other products :banghead:

Recall? well, if you say so Drex. I'll be waiting patiently for that moment. :itsme:

Anyway, since we have to wait & got ourselves some spare time , why don't we discuss about the best or ideal fuel pressure, for both, stock or modified campro engine.

I set it at 3.8 bar a 2 days ago & the fuel consumption reads around 5.6 - 6.6 KM/L which i think its way above my expectation. Even under hard driving, the reading is around that figure. Is that what its suppose to turn out?

Check the vacuum hose, it may have dropped off from the intake manifold. One of my customer face the same problem of high FC, due to this reason.

Anyway, 3.8bar is with the vacuum hose connected to the FPR or without? Always tune with the hose unplugged, that's the pressure for WOT.

Everything is connected to where its suppose to be. Im not complaining, infact, i think its lower than my previous reading which around 7.6-8.4 km/L .

Im assuming the vacuum hose you're talking about is the smallest/thinnest hose on top of the FPR issit? :hmmmm:

Errr...i didn't unplug the hose when i tune it. :embarassed:

So the best is to unplug it first, set the pressure level then lock it back.

Wanna ask you something. When we rev the engine, is the pressure suppose to be at the same bar pressure or there shud be a slight increase then back to normal when the engine rpm getting to idle?

hi,guys
want to ask what is FPR.My blm can instal or not.
If can what good about it,or what other thing need to add b4 can use.

Yes. Without unplugging the hose, whatever tuning you have now is lower than the actual pressure exerted onthe injectors. Fuel presure is rated when the FPR is not connected to a vacuum source, similating a WOT condition. That's teh reason why you should unplug the vacuum to tune to whatever pressure intended, then plug it back.

Yes, FPR is responded to the vacuum level, which reflects the engine load.

If the pressure doesn't change when teh engine is revved, the vacuum hose has disconnected from teh source (intake manifold), which will contribute to high FC.

bro....based on ur experience..wat is da best pressure (without connecting vacuum hose) for Campro..??? for daily use ony wif great acceleration not for racing purpose.... TQ...

FYI, everytime when the sounds come out, I will tune the FPR to any pressure until the sound gone on idling, used to be from 3bar to nearly 5bar. After last visit to Drex, I have to tune it at least once a day. Something weird happened on last Friday, I tuned it as usual when the sound comes, at last i made it at 4.5 bar and the sounds gone. Until today the sounds never comes out again (during engine cold, start car and rev the car). I dont dare to change the pressure now because the sounds is really irritating me.

For the fuel comsumption, I just top out my car full tank last saturday.
Will share with your guys for the fuel compsution of my car in city drive later on.

No wonder it drops to 3.6 Bar when I last checked it. :banghead:

Hehe. Finally, you manage to get rid of the pitching sound eyh? mine still there. Now got two sound. The sound from the regulator & from my wife nags coz she thinks its annoying too! :bawling:

Neway, 4.5 Bar is quite high. Is there any difference in your engine character? Am still curious. Been reading thru the net saying high pressure means fuel save & increase performance. I know its fuel consumption is kinda low for sure.

Drex, i've set it to 4.0 bar & yet the sound still there. Will there be any harm or danger to the engine if its set to 4.5 bar especially the piston?

Jerry, update us the status whether still got whistling sound or not. :wavey:
