Few months into ownership of my lovely chilli. Owh wait, now I got overheating issues.. Noticed that if I drive hard/long enough through out the day, my oil temp starts shooting up.. stop at the traffic light or stuck in jam, water temp also rising up to 90+++.. using SARD radiator (short one), not sure if it’s helping or worth pointing out but I feel the need to install a oil cooler ady.. if not no fun driving the car.. *insert frown face*

SARD radiator - the likelihood that it's an ori - probably 10%. You might have a bad airflow rad and fan.

adding an oil coler at this point is more like a expensive band aid solution.Like izso mentioned check if what you have now works efficient enough.

any idea what the eo temps are?

To be honest no actually..

Might I say I should do a flush on my radiator and do all the necessary checking?
Yup, do the necessary check up first. Fan running at proper speed, water pump, thermostat all running condition, coolant not like teh tarik..haha
As for oil temp 100c is normal. On my wife's forester, doing 110kph is around that temp. Going uphill like Menora tunnel from Ipoh to North can go up to 108c, and tried one time to Genting at higher revs can hit 116c

actually
1)why do you say its over heating
2)how are you reading the water temps? dash gauge?

So reaching 100’c should be normal temp?

1.shouldn't oil Temp be between 80-90’c?
2.using defi gauges to read the temps
very strange, you have the water temp but no oil temps.....
usually na guys go for the oil pressure, followed bu oil temps then water temps

my previous B16A i set the temps gauge to buzz at the temps below

oil - 130c
water - 97c

n i only achieve that during track days and also hot weather mega traffic jam.

was using an oil cooler as well as a short AVS aluminium radiator

Bro, I got 3 gauges reading for oil temp, water temp and oil pressure..

So oil Temp should be about 100 like that?
