if not mistaken performax was previously made from Sapura leda, they just change name as they had bad reviews bout their products.
215/45R17 very common size. Since you don't drive the car much no point getting the top range tyres.
ATR Sports 2 is ok, about same is Neuton NT8000, NT5000, slightly more expensive will be Nexen N8000 and GT Radial Champiro HPY
That is the thing, you always try to save here and there getting the mid stuff, then when it does not meet your requirement change to high end ones, so in the end you spend more....![]()
I'm a long time user of several sport springs with dampers and I still think it's a good choice for low budget guys like me to improve handling. I don't experience much issue with them as I don't choose springs which are too stiff or too low anyway.

you guys are impressive, rich of experience and knowledge.
i always puzzled over under steer and overseer.. don't seem to understand.
nonetheless, i already checking out the front and rear anti roll bar for perdana.
seems the best deal is at rm499, eibach.
the price of ATR sport 2 for 215/45/17 is around rm250 each.
let me find out on GT radial champiro hpy.
RM250 each? I think can get RM240 or lower at PTS Tyres in gombak. They are Achilles Distributors.
RM499 for Eibach front and rear anti rollbar? So cheap man...Ultra Racing for my car already almost RM1K for Front and Rear.
No choice, trying to get cheap and good ma. Try but have to pay to try haha!

GT Radial HPY should be RM330 to 350
hello guys, been a while since i posted something.
finally finish my wedding in ipoh, now moving to a new stage of life.
the upsetting part is my car got rear hit by vellfire at seremban while the way back to JB..
now, car is in workshop, a week has gone and yet to repair..
as still pending the report before they could proceed further.
hopefully, i can get it before CNY.. otherwise, going back ipoh, will be a headache..
perdana is my beloved car and probably the retirement car if i were to retire in malaysia..
i love the car except its terrible road handling.. till date, i still can't find anything suitable or improvise the handling.
i can't go for adjustable as need to ferry my in law.
using and my review:
performax spring and coil (not bad, a good choice apart from adjustable)
new tire (but feel its not that good too, will probably change to a better tire like ATR sport 2)
stiff ring (pretty crappy to me)
3 point front strut bar (well, ok.. nothing special)
am i missing anything else?
- Uprated front and rear anti roll bar
- Lightweight rims and grippy tyres
Cheaper than 16" Michelin PS3 lol....haih...sad case.

to those who may be keen,
the eibach front and rear anti roll bar, dimension is:
front 21mm,
rear 17mm.
That's somewhat small. My Wira had 22mm front and 19mm rear. But perhaps for the Perdana 21-17 is more than enough

was told that perdana,
the rear stock was only 12mm.
UR has rear 19mm which goes like rm350..
front 20mm at rm480..
since eibach having promo, why not. :)

Actually in logic sense, getting the thicker one will be better right?

Not necessarily. Depends on your driving style and requirements. Too stiff and you got less body roll but probably means worse understeer. But then again if the front is stiff and the rear is not you might get a different characteristic altogether.
The only time when stiff is better is when you're in a dimly lit room with a semi-naked beautiful woman with Marvin Gayle playing in the background.
too big ARB= harsh ride when got uneven surface.....
thats why i'm using crazy soft spring on adjustable when my arb was big enough....
4k front and 3k rear....if got softer spring i maybe use softer rate![]()

So if I were to maintain OEM Springs + Sports absorber (which is comfortable now) + Thicker ARB for front and rear, then ride still be harsh on uneven surface?

u will get Lotus Handling very much similar way of proton suspension tuned.....firm...not too harsh...
if u didnt choose the biggest baddest ARB size...no worries...1 size up or 2size up from stock oem size is good enough....
mine a bit harsh because my front ARB utilize the stock wira/satria 1.6/1.8 satay type ARB which is very big..then i swap the end link from satay type into absorber link type.....that makes roughly my ARB size is double from stock evo3 arb size/satria GTi arb size![]()
a friend told me a few time he saw i lifted my rear wheel in corner on the road while he was following behind...but i can't prove it..no evidence..and my car handle pretty well and relatively comfort..... :hmmmm: :stupid:
