Engine Treatment/Oil Additive

I'd be leery of using any additives and I just don't see the point of risking adding snakeoil when the engine is fine. If the engine was smoking then additives might be helpful but as a very temporary measure before it goes into a workshop.

I'm using JTX Oil which is using Tricology technology. My car engine heat reduce, turn quiet, more power and save power. One day when my car oil leakage in penang, I don't even realise. I drive all the way from penang to KL. Luckily I using JTX, if not my engine sure jam without oil.

Wow! Facinating script.... Err.... It should be Tribology, isn't it?

"tribology" technology.

pfft.

I challenge Corson to bring out the spec sheet for this MLM oil and use it as comparison against other oils.

Now I remember, the mineral oil with sort of metal condition added to it....:smokin:

Have you guys heard of nano ceramic coating for engine internal? Yeap you hear me right..coat the internal engine to make it smoother....but dont know if you need to wax it for perfect smoothness or not lar

Some have claim that additives like the X1R for the engine is not recommended and it has proven to create more sludge in the engine instead. Yet Proton SC is giving customers 1 bottle after every service

It's old news. There's a lot of companies that have these additives. But I'm just wondering what happens when it gets baked in heat long term. I doubt it'll survive?

as for me, i hv no choice but to use additives. car still under perodua warranty & i wanna maintain d warranty. u knw la p2 will nvr let u use ur own eo. so by no choice hv to use p2 crappy eo. however after every oci, when i reach home i'll pour in Tufoil into d crankcase. recommendation was 8oz for initials & 4oz after initials. but as for me i just pour all in d 8oz btl every oci. hopefully shud do good than bad. hehehe
1 thing is very noticeable, whenever i crank start d car, d engine sounds smoother compare to no Tufoil.
& for ATF, i use lubegard (red) as additives & very noticeable tranny smoothness.
for fuel, i used x1r octane booster along wt d regular shell ron95. x1r ob really makes d ron95 fells like ron97 & i able to gained xtra 40 ~ 50km wt d x1r ob.

not too sure whether can afford tufoil again in future bcoz of price hike. normally i bought RM52 frm tesco but recently d price went up to RM82!!! WTF??? thats RM30 increased.
but lubegard (red) went down frm RM70 to RM45. hehehe

New car and already doing all this? If you have to add additives to get that sort of smooth feel then the oils you're using are rubbish. And I honestly doubt Perodua made any cars that work on RON97.

Happily using Perodua EO Semi Syn Gold 3L for my mouse deer and fish. So far no problem.
Felt smooth engine responds for normal and some moderate speeding.

Probably SC gave him the silver one......

Kollektion~

P2 EO is quite decent if you ask me. I've used tufoil also before this and the car really feel smoother like just being serviced. But the feel is vry minimal or perhaps its placebo effect so i stopped using it. Kinda expensive too.

Yah! some additives the price of the engine oil itself......:banghead::banghead:

Well ok. Let me correct my sentence again :

I honestly doubt Perodua made any cars that utilizes the full potential of RON97.

To say it makes a difference using 97 compared to 95 in your stock Perodua is improbable.

Giving or force to buy?:smokin:

Engine treatment or any other additives is constantly always under fire and debate over "worth" and "un worthy".

As a person involve in downstream industry, I personally think the additive sold in the market is always 80% marketing and 20% real worthiness, The main reason why additive is always debunked by most user and supported by some hardcore user, is because the product it self exaggerate too much and miss lead user over the real use anf function of their intended function.

In simple words, most additive sold in the market is actually a better version of engine oil, nothing more, where it contain better grade detergent, or viscosity modifier or substance that make it higher temperature tolerance.

additive is actually very important and useful in racing or specific driving condition like ice road trucker in alaska, or Dakar rally driver...

but for normal driver like me and you ... the unconditional love for additive can lead to 1 money wasted 2 doing harm more than good ... take example a lot of people notice sludge buildup using additive, that is because the vm in it causing the viscosity index changes, because you are alraedy using one that contain x level of vm, and now u add on to x+y level, meaning you are changing the primary engine oil index .

and if you realise now, you usually being told to put in the additive as soon as you change your engine oil, that make the index change as soon as you service... which is contrary to why you service your car at all.

some vm additive thicken, some work like thinner... and some claim will help youclean better and is true, that it will clean better, but if you wish an engine oiil that clean better, you can always just buy the diesel engine oil CF CH category to do that, is cheaper and it clean better than your Mobil 1 or Castrol Magnatec, but..... that is not design for your car... so why now you wan to buy an additive that tell you " I can clean up your engine better"...

well... if anyone at this time wonder diesel engine oil and petrol engine oil and their difference.. please do read up... I can get in to the dispersion, acid, bes and ..... it take forever for me to explain....

In lay man terms... always consider to pay little extra more for your engine oil.. rather than thinking what additive I should try.... :D

As what my mechanic, engine oil or base is about the same in all the products, difference is the additive. So some times, it pays to go for imported engine oil as the QC of tambah the additive is maintained, and u dont get bad quality additive which some unscrupulous traders do. Btw, this is just based on experience and not saying locally packed engine oil is bad or that imported oil is better. Would greatly appreciate if there is anyone who has done comparison of engine oil based on data/statistic n share here, so that we can all learn from it together!
