Engine Treatment/Oil Additive

As what my mechanic, engine oil or base is about the same in all the products, difference is the additive. So some times, it pays to go for imported engine oil as the QC of tambah the additive is maintained, and u dont get bad quality additive which some unscrupulous traders do. Btw, this is just based on experience and not saying locally packed engine oil is bad or that imported oil is better. Would greatly appreciate if there is anyone who has done comparison of engine oil based on data/statistic n share here, so that we can all learn from it together!

You can always google and study and later share with your mechanic.

There are 5 types of base oil, each has different performance level and sold at different price, namely
API Group I, II, III, IV and V. So " Base oil for engine oil is about the same" is not correct.

Thanks of the challenge, so we can learn from each others. I will ask my friends to get the report and If anyone can share their oil based report here. Then we all can really learn from it. As a consumer, we really don't know the different between each others. Although, we will not compare which oil is better. But we will able to really learn the different between them.
