Thanks Evolutionz and Yitjin!! I'm also very excited and can't wait for my new ride to come..Been planning for sometime now whether to get it or not..But in the end of the day the pros won over the cons..Haha..Looking forward to meet up with fellow Cps owners as well..Cheers guys!!

Btw any one here had major issues with their rides?? Quite horror to see the crankshaft issue..There was one case i read, the guy's crankshaft broke twice!! Replaced the previous year, then broke again the following year!! And my friend's manual gearbox was overhauled, then replaced complete unit..Phewww..

Hi Justin,

Congrats in advance. Don't be scared by all our complaints, we complain but we still buy & love the car. All part of the ownership experience. Ya mine also came with the tint, but it was useless, took it to 3M and replaced it. Saw them strip it off....it was like el-cheapo colored plastic man. No offence but it probably cost Proton almost nothing in comparison to Captor. The tint at the front windows has some security features, but the quality of the tint at the rear 2 windows (back passenger) was of an even lower quality and did not have any security features.

I've been following this post from the beginning, and i think it's a shame that the neo has so many problems, whether from design flaws or poor quality control. Considering that Proton only sold a few hundred Neo's per month, this is very alarming. I must say that it's a very good car, handling and design wise, and considerably powerful too if compared to other compact/hatch in its category.

I drive a 13-year old Civic EJ7 which I bought a few months ago at a car auction company. The car has been left for a few months at their warehouse, but the condition was good (body, engine etc). After settling all the paperwork, I just poured in petrol and drove the car home. No prob so far.

After testing my friend's neo I was REALLY thinking of getting one. It's just that good. However, after reading about all the problems u guys encounter, I think I will hold that decision a bit longer while waiting for the rumoured Neo CPS turbo.

yup...eco-tint...they have a special name for those tint used for proton...so they named it safe-tint....actually i do agree that it doesnt have enuf heat resistant....my opinion is to spend some money to tint it again with some security tint and a little more darker..it will make yr car looks great! jpj summons usually the tint shop will guarantee...so don worry.

bout the cps manual, yeah it has some prob but not all, some are really good. maybe just the numbers are high coz the sales volume are high...if percentage i would think not so high indeed....

great fun car under rm60k price tag. i would recommend an auto neo...coz tested the auto and it drives smooth and surprisingly the accelerations was great....i would say it is as fast as manual except a little lag during launch....i heard less problem too....

Evo,

Interesting that you said the auto is a viable option. To be honest, i have not test driven the auto yet, but i remember the specs saying the acceleration between the auto and manual is about 12 sec to 10.5 sec or something? Maybe when i have time i would give the auto a go just to kepoh

Justin,

Will be worth the wait bro. Just dial down your expectations and you would be fine.

Also to the rest of you planning to service your car at the COE, make your appointment early! I just called, and they are fully booked till 7 Sept (my slot). So roughly 2 weeks in advance. This could also be due to Raya coming, thats why everyone's servicing their rides before the big break. Cheers

Oh thanks for the heads up bro..But most probably I'll be servicing my car at section 13, PJ because very near my office..Can drop of the car in the morning before work and collect after work..Plus a friend of mine is working there :driver:..Plus reading about the comments and feedback at COE....Errrr..Wouldn't go there unless i have no choice i guess

Evolution and Justin,

Yea, been hearing good stuff about Sek 13, i wouldn't mind trying it. COE is just overloaded with cars! My only concern is addressing warranty issues (wind noise, engine jerking etc). If the centre at Section 13 can handle it, i am game for it. Not really looking forward to COE as its so far off from everywhere. Just thought that COE was better equipped to handle warranty issues. Appreciate your feedback.

Where exactly is the Sec 13 center? Near to the Honda SC behind Colgate?

Anyone tried the large SC/Showroom place in Mutiara Damansara? Thought of going there, then can go to the Curve to lepak & cuci mata while car is being serviced.

Guys, I've had a discussion with Ceejay recently regarding yamcha. All CPS owners and potential owners are invited to come. We can den bitch more about our cars. I say we meet for lunch this Sat 28th at Kayu Aman Suria. Say 12pm? We have been wanting to sit down for some time so let's do this! Ppl who have problems can bring it up and maybe we can troubleshoot. Ppl who are considering buying the car can see it in the flesh and know more. Oh btw CPSLover, you MUST make it because you're the thread starter.

hi chris, i was told NOT to go to Mutiara Dmsara 3s ... the SA inside there told me to go to sec13 instead. He said all the ppl in there lembap one. Judging that came from an SA inside. I think its best to agree with him :D

Hi redzwanz, im using an auto as well. I didnt really try the top speed yet as im only on 1k+ mileage. But reaching 150kmh itself takes awhile.. or maybe i didnt pedal to the metal.
