Modifying cars doesnt addup the FC, possible?

how true could it be?
and how do someone actually achieve that?
heard someone claims adding performance != adding FC :D
i know new engines are sophisticated that even they hav high engine capacity and power(eg new BMW 330Ci)
but their FC still falls under the quite economical side (that car gives a 11.8km/l)

but im talking about general car modding that usually adds more power
modding engines to give power...smoother ride blah blah
ofcourse, modding cars to give more efficiency obviously will save fuel

i think someone needs to eat more if i ask him to run faster isnt it?

(if can find a solid reason..then i can ask my father to sponsor me for my car modding plan :D )

in modding, there is always a certain trade off.

If you have a heavy right foot...

Theoretically you would only lose fuel efficiency through parasitic loss of additional devices - heat from turbo, pulley tension of superchargers, etc... but same amount of air fuel mixture with less throttle = similar fuel consumption, no? :D

I think a good or right mod. Will give you better power and also still have good FC. just like my atos. Mod to kua kua already but still have good FC.

Hmm want power buat still want reasonable FC? My guess :

1. Tune the engine
2. Ensure the engine components is in top condition eg overhaul or rebuild
3. Use fully syntethic engine oil, use lighter engine oil eg 10W-40
4. Use fuel injection, with carburetor it's almost impossible to get big power + good FC
5. Lastly, lighten the car, throw away unnecessary things eg big subwoofer, rear seats, extra bodykits, or even aircond, or to the extreme, buy a motorcycle :p

actually i saw someone argueing modifying cars to get more power doesnt necessarily adds up the FC
so i was kinda confused...
general rule of thumb says that more power = more fuel...
