Guys,

My GTI is running a Lancer GSR RS 4G93T engine. Engine is totally stock and dynoed at 190 wbhp. However concern here is that for 40 liters I only get 250 average Kms. This is with very minimal trashing. I had a non RS version engine on my old wira and I was getting around 350 to 400 km on a tank.

Anyone with similar issues?

Yeah. Dont think that a Non RS GSR would be so bad. Anyone out there with a similar engine?

when you did your dyno, did you measure your afr as well?

how is your o2 sensor? upgraded pumps, injectors, management?

erm...wats the current petrol price/liter ar?? increased so many times i oso forgot liao..

me running on 93t in wira...RM50 i get abt 270-290kms oni...some say its normal, some say a bit thirsty...but i got some minor mods, ie. K&N open pod, vr4 i/c & boosting at 0.8bar...once a while up to 1bar..thrash oni on weekends..but i oni travel vr short distances on weekdays...so that plays a part too...

used shell v-power to clean my injectors and oni got 220km for RM50...pumped a second time n still running..almost empty and so far done abt 210kms...

mebe u need to get ur engine tuned..

Dolly,

Thanks for the input. AFR was fine. Graf all looked good. No mods except for 2 1/2 in ex piping and K&N. I have basically wanted it to remain stock.

WB,

Seems like my car is just as bad as yours. Is your and RS? Cheers

mine is non rs version...

u said u get 250kms on 40 liters...40 liters translates to RM?? ar?? 50++ issit?? cant remember the current price...

i think my open pod & 16" rims play a part...and probably the biggest contibutor would be my short travelling distance...on weekdays, i oni drive 7kms to work & 7kms back..and never get the chance to utilise 5th gear..most oso till 4th oni...dun go thru any hiways...im sure i'd be able to get 300++kms if i drive longer distances daily...

if possible are you able to check the o2 sensor voltage/ plug it into something that displays the afr/voltage like apexi turbo timer?

if the o2 sensor is kong then you'll have bad fuel consumption.

very weird leh to get such low milage... unless ur minimal thrashing is 5krpm b4 changing gears

Hhmmm, RM40 for 250 is quite a bit on the steep side...and...I don't think there's any difference between GSR or GSR RS in terms of fuel consumption [or engine bhp etc...]. Are u using back the GTi fuel tank?

I constantly do 400++ kms on full tank BUT that's coz I drive like an ah pek :P

Regards;

no need anything, the stock o2 sensor will give an ouput of ~0 to ~1v reading once its warmed up. can just hook up a multimeter and measure the readings

Jun,

Yes I am using the original GTI tank. Fuel used is 35litres=250km without much trashing. I will look into the O2 sensor and check if it is farked up. Maybe this maybe the reason.

The way I am driving I used to get 400km on my old GSR. unless of course the GTI and the Wira fuel tank is of differnent capacity. Any input on this? Cheers
