wow. where in the world are u getting your info? Vtec engagement at 2k RPM?

=.=

i think u should you do a google search first and read up on the type-S (i'm assuming you're talking about the JDM Type-S, because the USDM version is rated 200hp and doesn't come in A/T) before purchasing the car...

if you're looking at 200 - 220hp...why bother getting a Type-S? honestly...just because of the Manual factor? then may i suggest you look at getting another car instead... perhaps the Civic RS?

not trying to sound arrogant or mean... but its very ignorant to come to an Integra forum and say "i wanna get an automatic type-s and mod it to reach 200hp because im lazy" :stupid:

it will take plenty of 'EFFORT' to increase 60hp. if u r 'lazy' then may i suggest the golf gti. it comes with auto gearbox and performance wise it is quite good

Hmmm interesting... Dunno if it's been done.... Try getting a complete R top end (head, cams, valve train, intake (get the RRC) & bolt that on to ur type s block. Get a good piggy back or stand alone engine management... then u should be able to hit 200bhp... Dunno if it can be done, but logically it could... Ask around la... But it would definately cost quite a bit...

i got the info from here. Honda K engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:K20_head.jpg" class="image"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/74/K20_head.jpg/350px-K20_head.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/7/74/K20_head.jpg/350px-K20_head.jpg

type s is running on engine with 160ps / 191 nm with vtec engagement at 2200rpm.

dun flame me la. me like integra ma. if every1 only like type R then no reason for honda to come out with type S lo. :) the japan type S is not the same as RSX type S, which got 200PS. tat's y i wanna know wat it takes to upgrade to that 200ps level.

problem is, can your type-s auto gearbox stands the 60hp EXTRA horsepower?

good point!

honestly...you'll probably be spending well over 20k to achieve the 220bhp you want with the Type-S.

ok...here's the BEST suggestion:

1. Buy a Type-S
2. Buy a Type-R halfcut
3. Throw away the Type-S engine
4. Transplant the Type-R engine
5. Couple it with your Autobox
6. Get ready to replace the autobox every 6 months.

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

we're not flaming you. we're just trying to make it clear that its really a waste of time trying to churn out 220hp from the Type-S engine when you could easily go for the Type-R if you werent so "lazy" to drive manual.

Go for the full experience bro.

even if you do a top transplant , the ECU has to be swapped for a stand-alone unit, as stock K20A3 cams only runs on 2 lobes.

no need top transplant la. just throw the whole useless K20A3 engine away.

by the way... to answer your question maverick... the 2200rpm engagement is NOT Vtec. its actually when the K20A3 engine switches from running on 12valves to 16valves.

Below 2200 rpm, only 1 of the 2 intake valves are opened. this is to save fuel.

K20A3 engine does NOT have actual Vtec.
There is no "wild cams" switchover point.
The Type-S (JDM) is meant to be a fuel efficient base model, not a modded race car.

Thats why we're all telling you to go with the Type-R and stop wasting your time on the Type-S if its power you want.

Other than that... you can do what lightningfield suggests....get the Type-R...swap in Civic 2.0 auto gearbox...and sell us your manual box cheap cheap!:biggrin:

Just days after Mercedes-Benz and Mauro Calo set a new world record for the longest drift, keeping the C63 AMG with its tail out around a skid pad for 2,308 meters, slashing 2010 Formula Drift champion Vaughn Gitting Jr’s previous record of 1,916 meters, Gittin himself has come out to question what precisely constitutes a drift.

According to the guardians of the record, Guiness World Records, drifting is...
