195 width with 7J is okay. That is maximum for 195, best is 6 or 6.5JSo i guess i can forget about using rota wheels. The offset is just too low.
What if i use 7j with 195 tires?
What is the offset?

Depends on what you mean improve? Usually from 17" to 15" your tyres will be narrower and with higher sidewall (higher aspect ratio) Comfort will improve, but handling and traction will be compromised.....Im not really sure about the offset, i think its around 35-38.
Btw, reducing rims size and tires from 17" to 15" will improve alot?
It depends on the upgrade done previously. If oversize tyres were used, then revert back to 15" will have better acceleration, FC and braking. If previous upgrade done properly then less improvement as the changes not that much....Improve in terms of pickup, fuel consumption and brake efficiency? My car's stock rims are 15" so im reverting back to the original size.
What size in 17"?Will be changing the rims today and will post how it feels after the change. Before 17" i used 15" and the change felt very heavy to accelerate but better top speed and handling. Hoping to gain back that pickup.
Even though your width drop by 10mm only the overall diameter is smaller by 3.45% and that is a lot.Now currently running 205/40/17. Will be changing to 195/50/15.
I dont remember the exact specs of the old 15" but its 195.
you are welcome....Hope the pickup will improve much better. Will let you know once i changed.
Thanks alot for the info!
post details... what rims? whats the rim specs? price? what tire? size? price? So changed my rims today, from 17" to 15". The result?
Looks are gone, of course. The 17" looks way way better than the 15". I have to sacrifice looks.
But i can feel the pickup better and braking is improved.
Looks sure 15" cannot match 17". Yah, what tyres are you using for 15"?So changed my rims today, from 17" to 15". The result?
