WTA: Evo8 or Evo8 MR?

not sure bro..coz the used car going to fix it for me foc...he told me its ard rm500 all in...should b less if u r getting the bearing urself n ask a good mech to fix them...

abt ball bearing snails, does it really worth it to invest over rm10k? saw a dyno chart with garrett bb snail achieve max boost @ 3500rpm! damn...

hi guys,

yesterday, i sent my ride to automotive academy and ask the lecturer and technician.
regrading my "noise" problem. they quoted the problem coming from the pulley area.
and request the dealer to change...

so, both (auto lec & azizi.aziz) of the experience person told the same thing.
at least i have some idea for this problem...

maybe if time permit (tomorrow), i will sent my ride to the appointed mechanic...
if they happen to change the pulley...

could you guys please suggest the best/good quality pulley for it?
i don't know how many pulley to change at this moment...
thinking to change all....

AYC signal:
the problem seems to be disappear.
every time before ignite the engine just be patient and relax.
let all the sign go off then start.

but if i used the auto start from my key the AYC signal problem happen again.
so i switch of the engine and restart it using the key (problem solve). weird... might be something wrong with the remote start...

thanks in advance....and for the support...

regards,
pangyau...

PY, maybe u can just change the belts...don't hv to change pulleys...

hi ong,

the dealer already change all the belt as i requested (the original i keep as reference)
1- timing belt - L & S (Power Belt)
2- Belting 5PK 1170 (oem)

so, it might be the pulley have to change...

probably they didnt tighten it coz usually they will not on new belts

waaaa.... they didn't tighten the bolt properly??? is that you mean...???
so not professional and cannot be accepted.... i will die oooo...
human error = blunder.... dangerous... if this happen
i have to take automotive class so i can maintain my ride by myself...
fyi, in sabah we don't have much choice to choose the mechanic...
all seems like know everything... but in the end our ride will be nothing/more probs..

i will try to sent my ride ASAP to repair....

usually for new belts, its not recommended to tighten them...let them run in first n tighten again...thats one of my mech told me when i changed those pulley belts last yr on my other ride...

Hi Pangyau, it's better don't change the pulley first....check and change the worn out bearing at the problem pulley...for evo normally tensioner bearing...Balance pulley...air cond compressor clutch bearing...

1 more thing why they use 5PK 1170 belt...Evo8MR shud use 6PK 1800...???

Evo comes with auto tensioner...it will tighten the belt itself...

hi azizi.aziz,

i just sent my ride to the mechanic and they will figure out what's wrong/problems.

regarding the the belting... that's what quoted on my list given by them.
actually i don't know 4G63 required 3 beltings... and no idea which one is...???:stupid:

herewith i attach the picture of the belting has been changed (old item keep as

reference):
1- big (written: all the writing/mark gone)
2- medium (written: mitsubishi MD326059/153RU29/UNITTA/HNBRK)
3- small (written: mitsubishi MD18229/..... the rest cannot be seen)

hopefully you may guide/provide me any link or note to read about EVO 8 characteristic.
i already google around but can't find any....

regards,
pangyau...

correct.u need three belts.1 is the timing belt.2 is the balancer belt.3 is the belt for water pump, aircon comp, alternator and etc.

Hi Pangyau,

Yes, u need 3 belts.

1. Longest- the belt that connecting alternator, auto tensioner, Main pulley , power steering , air cond compressor...the code shud be 6PK 1800...just for your info the different between 5PK and 6PK it's the no of grooves (deep slot) on the belt...5PK got 5 grooves and 6PK got 6 grooves...the no 1800 is the length in mm...then u know how much different between 5PK 1170 and 6PK 1800...

2. Timing belt - standard size - no issue
3. Oil pump belt - standard size - no issue

hi azizi.aziz,

my bad also... coz of low knowledge of this...
i already seek the head mechanic regarding this... and confirm my ride use 6PK...

about my problem the "noise":
the head mechanic (the workshop owner) claim the sound came form the belting tensioner.
problem cause by his worker tighten the belt to hard and he already adjust it to the correct position.
now the "noise" problem solve i think/assume.... feel relief....

at the moment i still figuring another default if/possible happen to my ride...
coz still under warranty....

tomorrow task:
changing battery... considering to choose free maintenance brand GB...
reason... most of the performance car in here used the same brand...
any suggestion from you guys....

thanks to all forum-ner on the advise and guide....
i already booked all your suggestion/advise for my future use...

regards,

pangyau:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

hi guys,

my battery seems going to deplete soon... according to the meter.
the battery on left 10-11V in the morning....

the dealer going to replace my battery soon... by order...no GP coz no stock....
other brand... they offer me Century or FUJI...

what is the correct/ideal size of the battery to install???

update: having another problem on my ride...

after alarm systems installation.
i cannot wind down my passenger screen (all 3 window - rear and co-pilot) from my seat (controller).
but possible to wind down independently.

the alarm installer still figuring out what's happened.... mmmmm:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Problem 1...don't worry...still can use that Apex'i timer...but you have to wait all the sensor light i.e ACD, Check engine and ABS settle (off) then only you can start your engine...sometimes it's normal suddenly the 3 light 'ON' again...what u need to do...turn the key to ACC (wait until only 1 light appear) and turn the key back to ON...

hi azizi.aziz,

my ride just came back today from the workshop....

update:
the "noise" problem solve. the mechanic change the belting to standard/original Mitsu.
mechanic quoted the previous belting (power belt) kinda to "keras" or old stock supplied from KL.
my ride kinda smooth and feel like it...

they also remove my Apexi Timer and quoted might be something wrong with the unit.
i will run test for few days and make sure the AYC signal ok...
restart the engine and run few times.... seems ok... pray...pray....
then thinking to buy HKS Timer Type 1 (any suggestion by you guys???)

SELAMAT MENYAMBUT AIDILDHA to muslim MLOC and the rest HAPPY HOLIDAYS....

regards,
pangyau
