have it ever cross guys mind.. that the "ring" maybe his dipstick... it mebbe easier to check the engine oil witout have to open the bonnet.... more over its easier to see the dipstick with a ring that big....

That hole is when the car fucks up the driver (flat engine, flat battery, blown tyres, blown engine, etc.) and the car can't move no more, then the driver can fuck back the car with that hole on the whatfuckingeverthatis.... just cos the car fucks the driver first.

Other uses for this "hook" (that looks more like a loop to me) is to trap birds that fly across the bonet. The diameter of the loop is calculated such that a full grown fat-enough pigeon can fly through only if it's wings are closed tight. Else, the pigeon will get stuck there. And since the engine and bonet is already hot, it'll also cook the pigeon too so that at the end of the journey, the driver has pigeon bakar to eat.

Also, after washing the car, the "hook" can be used to hang the car up so that the car can drip dry. This means no need to use any cloth (or whatever) to wipe the car dry, which also means the possibility of avoiding swirl marks entirely.

The hook is use mostly on tracks cars like the JGTC. Well GT cars have a hook on the front and on top of the bonnet but both these hooks are welded to the chasis. As race cars have very small ground clearance some times when they ditch into a gravel trap the hook in front of the bumper is totally not useable as it is burried in the gravel so they will use the hook on top of the bonnet to tow the car out. :_:

If that hook really serve its purpose as those fitted in race cars, that hook is connected to the car battery. In case anything happens to the car, that hook can be pulled/pushed to disconnected the battery to stall the engine to prevent explosion etc.
