VW Golf GTi Mk6

Damn cronies and govt. Can't they do things right the first time without everyone complaining the shit out of everything?

I have tested drive a Golf R before, half way through the test drive. One of the cover on the A pillar fell out. I believe there are some quality issue for interior as well. Do take note.

Overall it is still so much fun to drive the car, that such minor issue can be overlook, at least for me.

Contrary to a friend of mine who had owned one before and sold it off pretty quickly. He claimed the car it's not worth its 200k+ price tag as it's boring! But I suppose it's back to personal preference.

Speaking of boring part of the car, I do find that the car's interior and especially the exterior are very boring, especially for one that upgrade from GTI.

It is too similar to a regular golf, apart from the exhaust and the R badge. Rim design is subjective, but I feel it could use a matt colour instead of glossy black which look plasticky.

LOL on the A pillar. My brother's Mk5 GTi is still solid.

I don't think the R feels RM200k special like an Evo X or a S204. I might be wrong.

Agreed. S204, that's special.

Ic, yeah the R is about 150kg heavier than the GTI and if you don't want the AWD then no point.

I think a GTi Mk7 with the performance pack (which we don't have here) would be more potent than a AWD R Mk6. But off the line sure AWD is better, but I ain't drag racing.

He seemed to imply the boring part was more about the driving dynamics, not about how it looks.

6uest : Once you've driven something better than what you expect was the best, it'll be on a different scale. Your friend probably had access to something more exciting.

I've driven the MK6 GTI a few times and I like it everytime I drive it. R no idea though.

So Ixeo : you're gonna get MK7?

Aah, so the Golf is still the better driver's car then, which is much more important. :driver:

Ixeo: have you secured the MK7 GTI yet? I might be able to get you quite a good deal for a new 2015 GTI for quite a heavy discount from the inside. If you haven't then I can proceed to ask for stock availability
