Versions of Rx-7 FC

I'm gonna get a Rx-7 FC soon
i took a look at this 91 Rx-7 FC which looks good,
but theres one thing i'm worried about which is it's year because it has no 3rd brake light below its rear spoiler.
i've seen a few S5 FC's all of them have it except this one.
It was also said to be auto last time but now its manual.
Is there any differance between a S5 manual and S5 auto?

if there is no 3rd brake lights .. means they are mk4 ,
but most of the mk4 onwer will mod to fit in the lights , so they look like mk5 ,

also all mk5 fc dont come with sunroof , if a fc with a sun roof means mk4 .

below the alternator, there water pump set ( behind those belt pulley ), for mk4 is 7 bolt nut and for mk5 is 8 bolt nut. to make sure it is mark5 engine, need to take out those parts and verify. hope this can help.

btw maybe the owner took out the break lights so it looks like Mk 4?

My meter panel gauges are only a quater circle while others are full.
So which model is mine?

Quarter circle is mk4 bro like mine hehehe anyway why bother ?

MK4 engine got low comp rotors better for high boost but less torque from the mk5 engine.

Anyway i ve changed my engine to MK5 also hehehe ,if you are modding the internals , i think doesnt differ much except for the rotors comp.

But then again, a fren of mine who drives a first gen FC, (YOM '86) his meter panel is full circle. Dono if the prev owner had changed it though?

mk4 can be fully converted to a mk5. the only way u can tell is through the chassis number. A mk5 will always start with 2

Its a Mark 4 then? I remember there was a websiteyou can go to to check the VIN/ Chasis code and know the YOM. Anyone?

yeap its a mk4. there are only a few original mk5, as most of them are converted from a mk4. correctly the year of manufacture of the mk5 is 1990/1991 but i have seen mk4 units in malaysia which have been claimed to be 1990/1991 units. just makes u wonder how could such a thing happen.

There are so many variations of finishes and options that until now, I can't figure out what is mine.
