Characteristics
??
The engines?s bore and stroke both measure 86.0 mm, which engineers refer to as square. According to Mitsubishi, the new cylinder dimensions contribute to a free-revving character (6,500 rpm redline, 8000 rpm final), linear power delivery and wide torque curve. Mitsubishi used a timing chain instead of a belt for better reliability, iridium spark plugs to lower emissions and to help extend major service intervals for lower cost of ownership. To reduce weight, Mitsubishi used a plastic cam cover and intake manifold and double-layer stainless steel exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold has a rear location on the transverse engine, compared to the front location for the previous engine, yielding important benefits such as better emissions performance. To lower vibration, Mitsubishi used a 4-point inertial axis system with cylindrical hydraulic engine mounts on the left and right sides. A lightweight, high-rigidity squeeze-cast aluminium bracket on the right side mount (engine side) lowers engine noise under acceleration. A lightweight, high-rigidity steel plate bracket on the left side mount (transmission side) lowers gear noise. A custom-tuned insulator was developed for the front and rear mounts to help control both idle vibration and acceleration shoc....

I see paddle shift....photo is taken inside Port...

The "real" Lancer also have paddle shifts, even the platforms are the same with this model. Can say almost all is the same.

If the new proton waja is true regarding the Mivec engine, then congrate to Proton R&D team la because they just see en evolution in vehicle transportation industry..:proud:

what I heard this is not Waja replacement but another project. What if say Perdana replacement?

wahh if use mivec technology and also have paddle shifters and such awesome features this car would be a major leap for Proton
though i do pity the lancer gt owners as their car secondhand values should plummet

how sure are we these photos werent taken before the lancer GT's launch? it looks exactly like the new lancer, isnt the so-called partnership between proton and mitsu has ended ke?

i dun think this is a step forward for proton...this is 2 step backward...utilise the flexibility of the exora platform proton engineers....why pay royalties again?it's a complete reverse cycle. even the saga, iswara and wira, satria putra look way diff...this is almost the same....leap forward?NO WAY!!

wow....wajah evo again...........:stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid:

how come alot of people flaming this car? Other than the grill this car owns any previous waja & Cmon guys, Now no need to replace engine. heheh :top: already come with mivec 2.0.

Just inacse some one you guys didnt know. Its similar because Mitsu "gave" the lancer to us and let us rebrand but in exchange they wanted exora and persona. I agree abit step backward, i thought ever since Satria Neo Proton would be making 100% their own cars again, summore they own lotus. Instead of making a car with Mitsu, tey should make a car with lotus. lol.

Its so smiliar, because it is the same freaking car. lol. Ya, alot of lancer owner and Evo owner gonna get pissed but its not their decision, i mean cmon if you had the cash wouldnt YOU buy this car?, its got great potential especially if your a modder.

Just my thoughts! :driver:

i agree with that..
i heard a rumours that proton had to this bcoz Malaysian crazy about JDM parts so they hd to step backward to rise up their sales...aiyoo...:stupid:

nolah, i think is jsut marketing strategy

hehe...
due to marketings strategy sometimes
will make the lancer owner
proud becoz they drive the original one
n the worst is the 2nd value will go down
due to competition with this protonlancer look.
wonder how much the price if this car come with mivec engine??

actually, i kinda hate the look of the lancer tail lamp... the front is ok on the lancer... but then how come the so called 2011 waja has such an ugly grille?? and they had to retain the ugly taillamp,... not trying to flame this car but if this is the waja... then its done by people who have no passion towards cars or whatsoever.. another POS damn
