Super-Charge

thanx for ur reply.
i'll hang in there n wait 4 u guyz to get it working with the deadly siemen vdo.
ya,ur plan sounds nice, could do some visiting to KL relatives.

Hello, i'm interested in the SC kits. Can it be used on Hondas? Looking for a cheaper and reliable alternative to Jackson's SC. TQ.

To my respective ZTH members.. :D

Fuel consumption>>>>always a big discussion for force induction cars, especially when prices of fuel is ever increasing. As for me, my golden rule of thumb is when you hit the right foot pedal, what do you get??? ;) .....high boost, instant power, high torque then what happens????..... :o .....Fuel consumption goes up!!!....

If it gives me the satisfaction I want, I can live with a slightly higher fuel consumption.....Supercharger do have a magnetic clutch whereby on certain boost registered or certain voltage it will either disengage or engage, purpose is to conserve fuel and maintain drivability....We do use the same concept for our sc kits, only difference is we employ a switch to do the job... :D

The sc kits install in Honda's are really expensive as we have enquired but then it's all branded and new stuffs in it's kit...We did enquired, the jackson supercharger alone cost more than my entire GTI 1.8 sc kit + Installation (RM7000, minus taxes & freight charges) thus we came up with a supercharger kit hybrid "Malaysian style at a much lower cost, Malaysian develope for Malaysians".

As for Honda bolt on kits, we do have big plans for them and have drawn up blueprints for development but as the more popular models are from mitsu/proton, in Malaysia, we have decided to develope these kits prior to others.....Plans for HONDA yes,..Near future.

Excution period, maybe June - July period, (just maybe).

You guys who are interested could e-mail me at [email protected] or PM me as I do have alternatives to supercharging for Honda fans.....I do have a very good & close friend who has develope bolt on turbo kits, they are cheap but can't boost highlah due to internals that is still stock standard, but hey,,, it's damn fun to drive.

Happy boosting

Hi guys, I'm here again...

I've just posted some replies but as I was going thru the earlier post, I did missed out some unanswered questions...Hope this will enlighten you guys...and If do not post a reply, please prompt me ya...sometimes blurlah... :D

Contact of turbo sang..You could contact me instead as turbo sang is really busy with his R & D work. I will try my best to answer your questions with his help. (of course) He is still my sifumah.. I can be reached at 012-3073928,012-3872153 or e-mail at [email protected] or just PM me

Pricing Steep......How do you compare, may I ask? ;) . If you transplant a 4g93T, the half cut alone will set you back around RM5000plus. Then you have the labour charges (RM1-2000), then you have to get it inspected by puspakom (RM1000). All these takes up time, say 2 weeks (time is most valuable), all in....If you are lucky and got a competent mechanic to do the necessary, then you are safer. If not, then your headache has just started...If the half cut is in sound form (turbo ok) then good and if not..????

Your car is now ready and you will encountered a new problem, JPJ & police road blocks, will get flag down most of the time as the front mount intercooler is a dead giveaway...lots of hassle involved......Oh! Japanese are not too fond of taking care of their engines as labour & part charges are high and new cars is cheap over there....I've seen them collecting used engine oil to re-cycle and re-sell them cheap.... .....Oh! Puspakom Inspection these days are harder to pass compare to those days, if you know my drift....

Turbo Sang has years of experience in the engine transplant arena and has successfully completed many weird hybrids like my kembara with supercharger and boost at 1 bar, so we do know whats the scene like for engine transplant, the pros and cons...involved.. with it
On the other hand, what other upgrade kits are there in the market that will take a day or two for installation, low profile, boost at 0.7bar, dynoed registered 162.3hp at the wheel with 200nm of torque at 2800rpm???...All costing no more than RM5,500 plus installation....very Low maintenance too...using your na block, original pistons, no metal gasket, stock clutch, stock head with stock cams and stock gearbox.... ?>??

Fuel mapping & ignition....was done during our development period and we are satisfied with it's performance, so far.. :D At the moment it is only applicable to mitsubishi wiring and ecu. Will try other methods (e-manage) which is most cost effective at the moment onto siemens system.. ;)

I do not undermine turbo applications, I cannot stress this point enough, it's just that every force induction method of application has got it's pro's & con's and we try our level best to develope upgrade sc kits which will serve us as daily drivers, a kit develope by Malaysian for Malaysians.(with a little help from Japs.. :D )

Supercharger Kits for Honda
We have plans and blueprint drawings to develope a sc bolt on kit for this model but as you all know, mitsubishi/proton cars holds a majority in our community which is why we developed sc kits for them first but we will move on to other models later ... ...Hang in there guys and we will keep you posted...
So much for now ZTH members, keep in touch and have loads of fun... :D

Hi there guys

The kelisa and kenari models are in the making but we encountered many challenges as the main problemo was serious lack of space for the supercharger unit and it's piping.

A different supercharger is required, smaller in size and suits the 1000cc engine and to obtain one in fine condition is rather hard thus the slow progress and many fabricated part has yet to prove itself....

Sorry guys for the delay for this model and we are trying our very best to push things thru but we will never release any sc kit until they have proven itself and that we are pleased with its performance and all part hold up.... :D This is our company policy..... ;)

Do keep in touch and have funs guys...

ps;I think you guys with Kelisa did post a similar ? at the review post..Right...! if, yes, than hope I enlighten you with the above answers..

Regards

just wan 2 clarify some things...
this supercharger kit..
how much is it ?
+ installation?
can giv the final price?
the kit includes what???
wheres ya location??
is there any warranty?

Celica10

a quick reply to your questions.....1.8 GTI Kit (mitsubishi wiring & ecu)

RM5,500 + Installation charges
Parts include, custom made inlet manifold, re-conditioned supercharger unit with pulley, supercharger manifold, mounting brackets, supercharger belt, higher impedence injectors and ecu (ecu on exchange basis).

To achieve its maximum gains, you will need 2.5" exhaust, open pod air filter, 4-2-1 extractor...Optional items are iridium cold plugs and plugs wires..Not included.
If not, then you will still have very good torque and exceleration and sounds like a rotary engine but will also encounter choking at higher rpm to its limitation on the filter and exhaust...(in & out)

Warranty covers workmanship, parts fabricated and supercharger unit (limited)

Note: The engine should be in sound, well maintained with periodical maintanence.
Clutch should also be in fine form and not worn out clutch.

Regards

No you got me wrong... I was saying the price is somewhat steep compared to a bolt-on turbocharger kit with a reconditioned turbo, wearable parts replaced and a few parts changed for reliability and power gains, while using the stock engine.

I know its an unfair comparison, the supercharger is more reliable, has lower consumption and has much more low end power which is good for everyday driving... which is what people pursuing comfort may want.

But for the performance minded, the power gains on the turbo charger with around the same budget is, frankly, higher than that of the supercharger, although with higher maintenance. Which is why I said the price was rather steep... and that I wouldnt think twice about getting a supercharger instead of a turbo if the price was more attractive... since both supercharger and turbo bolt-on kits of that budget uses reconditioned and reliable parts on the same 1.8 engine. :)

Note: Im not complaining about the price or asking you to lower it, but just voicing out my opinion since I was initially asked about it. I also understand that the supercharger has a market of its own and a certain coolness - "My car is supercharged!" - how cool is that?
But I was only saying If the price wasnt so steep... ;)

how to up boost for 4agze 7 can i put the front mount intercooler.if can wat type of intercooler suit.

more questions here...

1. wat are the parts involved?...
2. do u guys customize supercharger kit for vios (since its a toyota)?
3. how much would it roughly cost?..
4. how would the wear and tear be? as high as turbo charging...??

gerard dude...any replies for the above? [/b][/quote]
errr.ello??

Quottro. ;)

So sorry for the late reply. It is true that we are using superchargers from Toyota but we do not have any bolt on kits for Vios or neither have we install one in Vios...

The engine and car is very new and we as tuners do not know if the engine internals are able to hold these additional stress and it's electronics...Nothing is impossible, it's just that we have not done it before so with regards to wear and tear, I cannot tell you much but knowing Toyota, always a sound name for reliability and strength.

We cannot develope kits for cars that we are unfamiliar with (engine & management, stock gearbox or clutch) as these models (Vios & Wish) is relatively new but have heard grapevine that such kits are available in Thailand... :D ..Cannot confirm this, any of you guys out there seen one in actual or read bout it, please inform us.... :P ...I

Good luck in your quest for supercharging..

Zeroed

Great feedback from you (informative). We are always striving hard to use good parts in fabrication & development to form the cheapest kit (value for hp) possible. You can bet on that as pricing factor is always a deciding point to most upgrades...agreed :D ....

I guess, the plus point here is that the sc unit or kit is of low maintenance compared to turboc kits with the right power at the right rpm's most suited to a daily driver. As for ultimate power (ie : drag racing), there is no other way except turbocharging.... ;)....

Thanks for all the great contributions, encouragement and feeback received via this topic that I've posted, your time in reading too...Many thanks again

Hi there,

I was once at Turbo Sang's place when he was testing his new developed SC for Satria. I was offered to ride along and of course went into the car without question.

Verdict - all I can say is WOWEE!!!

I also asked him about doing it in a Bimmer E36 325i and I was quoted at that time roughly RM8k plus minus. The parts include e-manage, intercooler, pipings and SC plus some other parts (cannot remember already).

So far have not made up my mind as money is the main problem. still hoping to get fund from some unknown millionaires... :P

all in all, Malaysia Boley!

cheers,

Another fast one...

Can anybody tell me where got anybody who can fabricate mounting/tapak for SC?

Been looking for this one high and low...

Gerard, jus a quicky. I've been wondering, how does a supercharger & turbo run in unison like the famous 4AGZE with HKS turbokit? I'm playing around with th idea of a supercharged turbo L5.

alrite...thanks dude...not to bug u..haha..just wonderin' why u didn't reply..

thanks anyway ;)

rizaarif

Have we met before, I remember talking to 1 guy over supercharging a beemer and yes, we do have plans for this category too. The million dollar ? is when is it going to start and when will it be completed???... ....

Anyway, glad you had a ride in it and gotten a feel how potent is it....Manty thanks ya for contributing to my post...Cheers mate... :D

quottro

No problemo, my friend. If I get any info on sc kits from thailand, I will post here and do keep in touch ya.... :D

Have fun with your vios, it's a great looking car... ;)

ahman
To boost up the 4Agze, get a bigger crank pulley or buy one from the makers like HKS (10mm bigger), Cusco (25mm) and blitz (15mm), they come in different sizes which will in turn up rate up your boost. I was using the blitz pulley that got me 1 bar of boost, plus other stuffs like water charged cooler... Front mount IC is effective but will cause lag, which is something you don't want to have with sc.

Remenber ya, when crank pulley is bigger, water pump will then be spinning faster which will cause cavitation in the coolant, means lack of coolant flowing thru the engine effectively...It will also cause more drag to the engine

My gze with blitz crank was spinning the supercharger 12% faster than stock and water pump spinning faster too by bout 14.8%....The prob here is getting one such pulley....
Have fun with the gze, damn strong engine to play around with....had lots of fun playing around with it... :D

polyxtroy,

that's twin charging, sc for the low end torque and instant responce and top end using the help of a big turbo....Please bear in mind, if you have a spare car to drive around besides your L5 then fine cos it will take forever to tune one, and not to mention installing one.
we have been developing this type of charging in one of pet project car. I can't provide much detail here yet, pertaining to this project as it has yet to pass our test .... :(.....it's been 4 years nows on two different cars and we are still struggling with it.

All I can say is it's 85% ready and it's now doing on road test. Power wise fanstastic...Oh ! BTW, it's not on a L5.... Honestly, I wouldn't think its possible on a small size car and believe me when I say, you do need extended understanding of how this system works and how to put them in place to complement each other, as they always tend to cancell out each other's boost (transition period)...Once this pet project is ready, well strap on the dyno to see the real result in hp & torque gain and probably u will c it in the mags......real soon....

Mean while have fun and cheers

Regards
gerard
