Dear Gurus,

My vios is stock without any protection of the area below the doors. I not sure how to describe this area of the car where side skirt is put. What is it called without the skirt??? Anyways, i think you can tell which part i am talking about.

Will the skirt prevent rusting due to chipping? I mean, the undercarriage is not very visible and less washed than the visible surfaces of the car. It seems easy for road debris to chip the undercarriage area which is made of metal. So, normally how do car owners prevent this part from rusting or damage?

Does a skirt do the job?

yours sincerely,
Richard

wow...this is hard to answer...:hmmmm:...ok bout the undercarriage... it's normally coated with a layer of tar... so i guess chipping is out of the question coz, it's not paint... bout the area behind the skirts, your skirts assuming that's the original skirting, it will be bolted at both ends near the wheel arcs with a rubber lining on the top... unless it's from brothers, they will rivet in to the edges under the door gap, if thay do rivet, u may get rust around those areas... hope this helps...
