Correcto.... you use a remote to open the doors. And there's a button that you can hide to open the doors if the remote dies.

hmm.. i have these while i was in the states... back in 1996.

basically, it's an accessory that lets u open your door via a remote, regardless you have door handle or not. Most people installed this in anticipation of shaving off the door handle.

The thing is pretty basic. just like auto lock and unlocking, there's an additional solenoid which trigger a motor that opens the door. There's a stopper installed with it, so that the door won't swing open all the way, rather just popped out a bit, like popping up your front hood.

I had it on my Civic EF before and shaved the door handle. Definitely makes the car look nicer and cleaner.

oh, the on-board release button just releases one door. so, it's either the driver side or passenger side. I had it wired to the boot of the car and disguised the button as one of the controls on my preamp. :D hehehe.

there is an optional emergency release remote which will trigger all door to open. There's also an optional emergency release relay that would be wired to your airbag. In case of an accident, when the airbag pops, the door lock releases. Could be good.. could be bad. :)

that's the downside of having this. all in the name of stylo... hehe

yep.. quite easy to DIY actually. When i bought the stuff, it came with complete instruction and step by step procedure. That's life in US, most people DIY because labor charges are very high. But the shaving part, that one i send to my friend's body shop to do la. hehe.. need to take the door handle off the car, along with the keyhole at the door, then weld some metal in it's place (stitch weld kinda thing) and then sand it to make it smooth. Then cement it and other things related before respraying.

Random Post Every 5 Minutes

dearest customers and friends,

i sincerely and regretfully to announce my resignation from MPd Auto Centre Sdn Bhd as sales and marketing executive.

my reason to leave this company which i help contribute to it's growth spurt is that they forget who helped them during difficult times.

My reason is that they refuse many times, to honour my sales (refuse to pay MY own customer, commission) citing several reasons:

-that the customer came before (but i closed the sale didnt i? whereas...
