if mivec kena tapau, problem is with the driver. for something easier use a turbo engine.

ok let us make it clear
n pls don argue that mivec is good or not good
assume that the driver skill both r the same n both engine is in standard form k
when this 2 engines come side by side
then the 1st n 2nd gear sure mivec will win a car (coz i always play wif my fren vtec)
then 3rd gear vtec kick in then the vtec driver will say bye bye to the mivec owner
not to say that mivec is not good but if u wan to gain more power u need to pay more

Ok, I just wanna share my experience, I just do a transplant on this month.
My car transplant 1.6 to local SGTi 1.8
I went to the bank, the bank require you to write a letter to them. The letter is to request to collect the vehicle grant. You wrote a reason that is for puspakom inspection and JPJ engine exchange. You don't have to tell them why you change the engine. If they ask, they only ask for fun. Tell them you park your car near a flooding area as a result entire engine need to replace or overall. Just tell them funny funny things to satisfy them lar. What u need to provide before you taking out the grant is you need to write a letter asking to get the grant, 2nd is the AP cert. of the engine u need to replace. They want it because of they want the engine no. If you purchase the engine locally like mine is SGTi, no AP, then you need to ask the seller to write you a letter that he sold the engine to you. Also don't forget to copy his vehicle grant too.
The bank will wrote a letter to JPJ, the letter written out, from the bank site they don't have any objection that you replace your vehicle with this engine XXXXXX (engine no). All the saman, responsibility after engine exchange will be bear by yourself only. The time you collect the letter you need the owner to take the document from the bank. Alternatively ask your owner (your mom) to write a letter and you can collect it. That's all.
Take all the documents and submit to JPJ. Ive waited for 6 months for JPJ to approve it. JPJ will issue u an approval letter and u take the letter to Puspakom for inspection.
I've gone thru a runner. I don't need to do anything and cost me RM650.
After puspakom inspection, finally need to submit back to JPJ, just allowing them to updating your vehicle data. Now when you submit this, they require you to go to the Commisioner of Oath (PesuruhJaya Sumpah). Got to The P.Sumpah and pay RM8. Fotocopy front and rear side of your IC (vehicle owner) and allow P.Sumpah to endorse it. Take the document back to JPJ and wait for 3 days.
That's all. Anything not clear just ask.. I've done this on 5/12/2005. Quite latest news.
From the begining I don't have to go to do anything except collecting back some of my documents in the bank. Puspakom and JPJ, I never go there. So to answer your question, I think your mom also no need to go anywhere. U can do it queitly and u just need your mom authorise you to collect a letter from the bank.
My car has changed to open pot air filter, removing the plug cover and change to twin pot brake caliper. I don't face a problem at puspakom.
So far paying RM650 I think it's worth. Everything included.

if u buy the car fully cash, that's mean that the garan is in ur hand d
so no need worry that need to get it from the bank
a runner is a person that help u to up some kind of works
for the case here is the person is helping to register the engine for us,so we no need to go to the puspakom to inspect our car n jpj to register our car

1.yup u juz need to pass all the neccessary documents to the runner then pay him and u will need no to do anything
2.yup u need to leave ur car to him for a few hours to let him/her to take to the puspakom to inspect ur car or to jpj to register ur car.
3.when u convert ur engine u may ask ur mech whether he got a runner to do this stuff or not.
if not then u can find someone in the zth forum here who is a runner, n he/she will help u to settle all this kind of things

Better be honest with your mum... also, u need to inform the insurance co for the engine upgrade otherwise, they won't cover u in case of an accident.
Keep the car stock and wait until it is fully paid then go n convert. That's how I did mine... car is already 15 years old and now under my name (tranferred from dad). What I do with it now it up to me... no restrictions!

the necessary documents are those garan, the receipt from the half cut shop n the shipping tax receipt oso from the half cut shop
he/she will ask u for the jpj or inspection money 1st then after all finish u only pay the salary for him/her

need help to endorse 1.8>2.0.. is there any runner can kaotim it at JB?
By the way, i ask to take d geran out for my car from fiannce. but dun allow leh. they said is still less than 1 yr. cant take myself. if tukar engine need a runner to collect it to get it endorse wor..

There's no restriction in this rulez, anytime u can take out your geran as long as you give them a proper reason. Tell them what if JPJ suspect your car and need your car for inspection? What if you caught in an accident, you need to provide your geran?
Is there any different between a runner and yourself asking the geran? Doesn't make any sense to me that the financial staff ask a runner to collect it.
