Real Speakers advice.

Recently, i upgraded my car audio system. I'm a person who listen to sentimental/pop songs.

I changed the front speaker to a 5" 1/4 JBL CS205 component set and rear speakers with a 6" 1/2 JBL CS206. The clearity and vocal are fine.But the bass is worse than the orignal factory speakers.

Now, I intend to gain back the bass. Guys, what should I replace the rear speakers.(My budget is RM400-RM800. I have no intention to get a subwoofer, amps or change my HU.

I wish to rely on my HU(50W X 4) + front (5" 1/4 JBL CS205) + rear(?????)

Anyone pls advice. Appreciated.

i wish u could get an amp instead. HU inbuilt amps are very low powered (only around 12-15W rms) too low for component set. more suitable for coaxials....

Like Zenn guru said, either you buy an amp for your speakers (4-channel to power all of them) or change your speakers to 2-way coaxials or something (possibly at the cost of clarity).

If budget limited then you get an amp and all your problem will be solved. You can power your front speakers with your HU(HU front connection) and RCA pre-out(normally is rear) connect the amp to power your speakers. I think your bass is terrible because of not enough power. Your original speakers is around 20watt and Hu also around there so the bass is ok. But your 6.5" is atleast 50 and above so is not enough power to it.

I think i would go for 2-way coaxials. Any recommendation for good bass coaxials(good enuff for normal volume) Price range RM200-RM500

since you want more bass, why not install a 6x9 in the rear?

My new car doesn't fit with 6X9.(not going to drill a hole). Only 6" 1/2 is applicable.
Anyone wanna recommend me 6" 1/2 speakers ranging from Rm200-Rm500

coaxials powered by HU usually wont give u enough bass. maybe u can use the budget to get a good 2nd hand 4 ch amp. a new amp at that price wont last very long nor will it sound good....

You can keep your current speakers, then use your budget to buy an amp. You can get a 200watt rms amp is ok already for around rm400. But don't use it to compare with high end amps, like this sure cannot.

Thanks for the replies.
Amp needs a lot of wirings and "undress" my new car, which might void my car warranty.
Active sub is the same as well?
I just need a simple, nice sound system set. With enough bass and enough clearity on moderate volume level. Not a decent one.
Advice?

Since your car is new and don't want to undress, then is a bit hard already as mention earlier your HU only 15-20watt rms per output. Or you can wait for a while until warranty no more first. For a 6.5" an amp is needed, if not there is not enough power to push the bass up.

Undressing car won't void warranty la. Only if you mod the engine or severely deform the body or something then warranty habis.

Take out the seats and lay wiring, then put seats back won't void anything :)

Btw, if those JBL's are originals, then they should have some decent bass if powered properly.

I think everyone here agrees you should buy an amp instead of downgrading those speakers of yours to coaxials.

yup,even i upgrade with chap ayam component for fyi, i never saw a set of jbl comp set that can be powered by HU properly..mostly with an amp..
again, if u wan a better comp set than ur ori 1, then mostly u need an amp..
2 way or watever coaxial comp set also need an amp(decent 1)

thanks guys, i 've check the RMS of my both front and rear JBLs.
The front is 30RMS rear is 40W RMS. Total 70W RMS.
My next question.
Can a 200W RMS or 400W RMS AMP fix into these speakers. Any opinion. A newbies question. Is 2-channel enough? What can i do with 4-channel

2 channel can power either your front component set or your rear coaxials
4 channel can power your front and rear speakers

2channel amp you got not much control, if you connect them together, maybe have the ohm problem for the amp.
4channel you got more control, you can control front loud or rear louder.

Ryws : Better to overpower the speakers than to underpower it. If you get a 200w RMS amp (which is freaking unbelievably powerful) then that's more than enough to power your speakers. However you'll need a 4-channel to play around with.

btw, what amp has that kind of rating??? Even the most expensive amps have very modest ratings like 70x4 (even tho most of the time they are underrated).
