Hi all noob here,

I want to buy my first car (Proton Satria Neo R3 RM64,250) for work. My starting salary will be around 4k (fresh grad. will start in 2 months).

Can I go book the car now? (worried sold out)

What do I need to show the bank/agent so they will give me loan?

How long will it take from booking to actually getting the car?

Your 3 months payslip, which you don't have at the moment (assuming you are taking loan).

booking is cash. Just give cash. Do you have the 10% downpayment? Or if you have more then pay more. The smaller the loan the easier the approval. You'll need to provide a guarantor since you haven't started work.

Yup, you can check out the Graduate Scheme, so far only seen the Perodua Graduate Scheme,
quite attractive offer for graduates to buy new cars.

You may wanna check it out. Not sure if Proton have.

Starting salary is quite high for a fresh graduate....

Have you confirmed getting the job?

Normal starting pay for fresh grads is around RM2,500 to RM3,000

Better start the job first then buy if I were you....

Dont listen to salesman talk, will be sold out, offer only this month etc. ....

Anyway the choice is yours....

I understand that PU rubber material is very hard to repair but not impossible. Does anyone have any idea on what works well with PU?

My PU bumper had a big hole due to the ex-owner's oversized muffler. Most shops didn't know how to fix it except for a welder who suggested to cover the hole by riveting a piece of aluminium sheet and knocking it to shape. Indeed it was a good job! After repainting, it looked like nothing has ever happened!

Just wondering if you guys have tried other...
