Hey guys , im having some issues with my satria , nothing major just that need some pointers.

1. My engine got some grinding sound , i heard it yesterday while i started the engine and was checking my battery water / windscreen washer level and all the other things. I notice it was from my gearbox , so i decided to press my clutch and see , the noise disappeared but came back when i release my clutch , i suspect my clucth is already out and needs replacements, any other ideas.

2. I have the Satria 1.3gli , my door trim is already not so pleasant as rain water has eaten the bottom part and it does nt look nice , what are my options, shall i just redo the door trim or shall i get the 1.6 door trim which is plastic , but i dont want power window since it will eventually get spoil , isit posible to use manual window with the 1.6 door trim , anyone can help me with this.

3. My rear right taillight leaks water into my trunk during heavy rain , water comes in from the small gaps or holes in the trunk just below the taillight (The hole is original from proton , the left side also got), i notice there is a small gap for the rain water to get in at the taillight , shall i use silicon and seal it or there is another way , its a gap in between my taillight and body, maybe a rubber piece fell off i dont know. Anyone can help me.

4. My driver side chair and seatbelt clip squeaks when i drive , its very anoying , what can be done.

Thanks a lot for all ur help in advance.

go for 1.6 door trim and its time to convert to power window :D

First problem is most likely the clutch bearing.

No point changing just the bearing if your clutch is already quite old, you might as well change the whole clutch set. Labour charge is already about the same as the cost of a new clutch set for your car.

Ok thx a lot for the replies , well il get my mechanic to one shot change the clutch set, since its quiet old ready, my door trim is getting worst, my speaker is heavy and the cardboard type material is nt gona hold it any longer , my speakers all are no more working thx to the speaker touching the metal door frame ready , hmmm, really need the 1.6 door trim but i dont want the power window , please help , what else can i do.

bro,
i tot u got a great deal with a nice car....what happen la...:

haha bro evo , well this problems are not things tht are not normal for a satria , what i meant by a good car is that , it runs well with a good engine and gearbox, accident free , clean and original interior and no major problems.

Its a 2nd car , there is no way a second hand car will be perfect unless its 2 days old, well so far this the only problems i am facing , the gearbox grinding is a wear and tear part , anyhow needs replacement , the door trim is made out of cardboard type material so it will give way , squeaks and noise from the front seats are actually the seatbelt clips, they need some WD40 i guess and lastly the taillight water leaking issue, its very small hold tht needs some silicon sealant . Overall very happy with the car, just that im a perfectionist so guys help me out yea.

Any idea what is a good suspension set up , my suspension is bad shape i can feel the ride is very hard , so planning to change , i am aware that suspension for satria give way often , is there a solution , maybe satria 1.6 suspension or wad.

Most of this problems are because the car was unused since August 2008 , it only covered 2300km till i got the car last month as owner nought herself a new toy (civic type r) and did not use this car until they finally sold it to me. I guess because it was nt used and now im using daily things will give way.

as for the squeeking sound coming from the seat belt thingy, spray wd40 into the buckle! it works for me...

if ur car is a 1.3, using a 1.6 absorbers/coils wouldn't be a good idea cuz its made for the 1.6 engine weight, while ur 1.3 is actually lighter. therefore, u will actually get a stiffer ride. best bet is to get original absorbers again. normally if u absorber is giving way, it should be soft, not hard... but ur case i dunno..

yea , i also wonder the same , why isit hard , isit because for 1 year the car was basicly never used before i bought it. Every time i drive i can feel the vibration of the road in my car, also when i hit a hump it feels very stiff and not cushioning at all.

vibrations usually comes from bad engine mounting as well... if you r a perfectionist.. its fine time you invest some money to restore it to prestine condition.. n its not going to be that expensive if you r using OEM parts for yr car....

Thx bro luka , wel engine mountings are on the list but first i wanna do my suspension and clutch kit , after tht i plan to do the mountings.

but i mostly thing if u get 2nd hand car. mostly wear and tear all one shot do it . better. or else ask the previous owner which is the latest service and done from the car.
