guys, i was wondering if there are methods that could check the engine whether potential overheating before purchasing? don;t wanna buy then overheat problem.

many thanks

I can think of 2 only..

1. Let the car idle till the radiator fan switch turns on...if on then OK.

2. Open the radiator cap & crank the starter.....watch the water during start crank......if the water jumps out high then it might be warped head or leaking gasket....will cause overheat issues in time...

hopes this helps..:hmmmm:

since talking bout overheat... aalto... if the engine had done ovehaul, skimed head and block... water pump changed... wat else will cause overheat?? im facing this problem now..:bawling:

have you tried these out

1. Check if the fan is running at the right temp....maybe fan switch sensor crazy or dead.

2. Check thermostat....try removing it & seeing if it still overheats.

3. Service the radiator(clean out all the gunk inside)....go to radiator specialist.

it depends also what the symptoms are....when does it happen....does your water level drop...etc..etc..
