pls reccomend a workshop

hi all,

I need to find a workshop in KL / cheras / pandan indah/ sunway area that is willing to help me retighten ALL my control arms bolts/nuts according to factory troque spec with the suspension components at NORMAL position.

I understand that this is not a common practise as most workshops use airguns and tighten bolts with the wheel off the ground. :angry:
i doubt they even know the correct tightening torque for my car :ph34r:


so, if you know of or have a workshop that is willing to let me guide you on the step-by-step procedures while you work, do let me know.
I'll need a patient foreman with a decent torque-wrench :P

I'm kinda fussy over these things, and I do not like to hear things like "aiyor, bounce for a while, will go down wan la...."

How to tighten the suspension members with the car on the ground? U need to find a tyre shop with the drive-on ramp. I know of one in subang.

i didnt say the bolts should be tighten with the wheels "on" the ground.

What i meant was the suspension arms should be at "normal" position while tightening it.

1 way of doing so is by using a ramp.or you could lift your car, place blocks under the wheels and lower it.

anyway as long as the bolts are not tightened with all the control arms hanging down

I dont really know how to explain, therefore, u will need to imagine.

common sense will tell u that you need to tighten things while it is in it's "normal" operating position, or else, it will strain itself when you use it.
you dont want your bushes to strain themselfs every time the car sits, dont you?

some workshops claim that it will slowly get back into the correct (normal) position, I don't really agree, and I do not like the idea of a half done installation.

I'm also a believer of using correct torque specs.

Nothing beats the factory manual. :P
