It’s always the Unlimited class vehicles that get all the limelight at Pikes Peak, and rightly so because of their insane power and designs, but if you took some time to check out the other classes, you just might find equally rewarding vehicles that seem to offer just as much fun, if not more.

Take for example Doug Siddens and his modified Polaris RZR buggy that he contests with in the Exhibition Powersport class. The buggy has been tuned by MCX-USA and now pushes out around 300hp from the tuned Apex 998cc turbocharged mill yanked from a Yamaha snowmobile. Just to gauge the buggy’s ferocity, it ran up the hill in 14:03 last year with less power than you’ll witness in the video below.

The video is a ride along as Siddens takes the RZR up Pikes Peak during a practice session for this year’s race and as you will bear witness, keeping the bombastic buggy in check is a full-time job.

Looks like it's gonna careen off the mountain anytime. Looks so difficult to control.
