Anyway, this isn't the tax structure. Still waiting to have a look at that.

do u guys really think that car prices will go down? i dont think so. if it really does go down that wld be great...and hopefully it does. still remember what happened the last time around with the reduction of tax structure??? the prices went up!!! wtf?

even if the price should drop ............in reality it won't......they will just add sum more things like more head rest or better seat belt or nicer steering.....or other minor things to push up the value back to its ori price...........

so, should more or less the same...............well, my onion....eh...opinion only, hehe

....screw !

hmmm seems like price wont drop....true also if CBU cars drop then proton how..hahaha perdana becomes 70k...
gheexzzzzz......G craps alot.....

:X-:

It is crap. The whole thing is vague and not definite. Don't expect to see much change. Still expect Proton to be protected and produce crap. Still expect other cars to cost the same. Still expect APs to be given to morons who know nothing but sell it off for profit. Still expect AP kings to laugh all the way to the bank. Still expect to sell and arm and a leg to buy a new car.

Furthermore, discrimination of non-bumis continue. Thanks BN, thanks UMNO.

coz G wan protect local cars....if they drop the imported cars price..who gonna buy proton? perodua?

might buy lancer, passo oledi....rite?

if Imported cars drop price...local cars hv to drop price too in order to be more competitive in the market....but i dun think Proton n Perodua wil drop their price...

* In year 2001, i heard few taxi drivers at kl( when i took taxi at kl) told me tat in year 2005..car taxes wil be waived and car wil become veli cheap....but now oledi 2006 lo....mana ada? tipu punya ini G...

New car tax is only at the max of 5% for all CKD and Asean CBU cars. While custome exicse duty is standardised no matter whether its proton or not. Our gov had no choice but to lift up protection to national cars for 2 reasons.

1. Seeing how fast Thailand grow as the regional auto hub when our country should be the one.
2. Realising that proton should be able to stand on its own 5 years ago and capable of penetrating into neighboring Asean countries.

no doubt its late but better late than never.

Still, there are too many loopholes and a general vagueness to the NAP. I can't see it change the automotive scene much. At least at a consumers point of view. We still have to fork out an arm and a leg and maybe a kidney to pay for a new car.
