Lexus Malaysia has officially unveiled the improved version of the Lexus RX Crossover range, which continues to refine the ‘L-Finesse’ design philosophy that comes with the new Lexus “spindle grille” that was first seen on the all-new Lexus GS back in March this year.
Within the all new RX range are the RX 450h (hybrid), RX 350 F Sport, RX 350 and the entry level RX 270.
Aside from the new “spindle grille”, the new RX gets a revised sportier bumper, LED equipped Daytime Running Lights, 19” alloys rims for both the RX 350 and RX 450h (comes with matching new grille) and a redesigned rear-light cluster.
The interior for the RX range comes with new features as well as a touch of nature (high quality wood trim) within the cabin and all variants will come equipped with the award-winning, second generation Remote Touch Controller that’s linked to an 8.0” Electro-Multi Vision Screen equipped with navigation as standard.
In terms of power, the RX 270 possesses a 2.7L 4-cylinder engine that produces 185bhp and 252Nm of torque. The RX 450h gets an Atkinson Cycle 3.5L V6, which gets outfitted with two separate electric motors for a combined output of 295bhp.
What’s new with the RX range is the introduction of the RX 350 F Sport variant, indicated by the F-Sport badges on its exterior, which focuses more on performance rather than comfort and has the interior decked out with aluminium trim instead of the high-quality high-gloss wood trim. It’s engine is a 3.5L V6 that pumps out 274bhp and 346Nm of torque.
New owners will also be happy to utilise paddle shifters in order to satiate that need for brisk drives and aluminium foot-paddles add a nice finishing touch. Thankfully, Lexus has also included performance dampers and springs as well.

- Lexus RX 350 – RM399,800
- Lexus RX 350 F Sport – RM408,800
- Lexus RX 450h – RM525,000
Orders already began on 2nd May 2012 and Lexus looks keen to sell more than 400 units for this year alone.
