need advice! merc E200 !!

i have kia carnival and planned to change to mercedes E200..my friend wanna sell it to me RM 82,000 gold color and nice number also.year 2000 but no leather seat,no electric seat..my friend just change to a new huge rim and new continental tyre..

i have problem...i dont know if the mercedes in good condition or not..many people said mercedes gearbox always "kong".and my neigbour also use E200 ,he said the car has no power to climb genting highland..he said that E240 would be o.k.the fc also bad...


can any mercedes owner advice me here....PLEASE!!!

E200 would be very underpowered. I used to drive an E230. Even that was considered just enough and just nice. Unless it is an E200 with Kompressor. I would get something slightly higher than a 2litre if you can. If you don't care about that then just send it to a Merc mech for inspection.

As for maintenance, it's reliable depending on how you treat it.

yup, agree with nasscmw. unless E200 got kompressor or higher than E200.

the car really underpower.
