Hi all. I'm new here. The car i'm having now is a 2nd hand Toyota SEG(not sure what code) 1997, it is the same model in this picture.

http://www.eoa.com.my/comingpage/co....9068.front.jpg

Is it easy to find parts for modding the exterior of this car? (i.e crystal tail/headlights, bodykits, front grill) I'm scared that I have to rely heavily on custom parts.

Hi Wolf,

I was having a 97 model too. parts are easy to source. Bodykits are not much available as std for this model. if you want some ideas can PM one of a few zth members here... Blitz, myself, hmm.. what's the other's guy nick.. I forgot.. all did have bodykits on their AE111.

But Blitz one is really one of a kind, fully done up engine.. very very fast.

can see my at www.cardomain.com/id/cynicks

I think blitz's car is somewhere there too.

Wow, nicely done cynicks. *Bump!* :P Btw, is your bodykit custom made? Where did you get your's done? Are there any crystal taillights for this model?

yeah. its custom made. its done in Bumi. Not the best of finishing work they done.. but hey.. i was lucky that I have a good painter. If you see properly... mine is fitted with the facelift crystal lights. There are NO crystal lights for the '96-97 AE111 (local).

Oh, what about the RM650 black crystal lights for AE111 posted in the toyota forums? Is that one the real thing? How and where do you get a facelift for your lights? Can you do a crystal facelift on the rear lights as well? As for the dashboard, are the sport gauges easy to find for this car? Btw, was all the mods of your car done at BUMI? Did they get all the other parts for you (i.e gauges, recaro seats, facelifting lights)? What about the engine? Did you transplant a new engine? What model was the engine? Did JPJ approve it?

Wahh wolfy.. full of questions..

1) You need to get a new lower metal beams to fit the facelifted light. (look at my page for the explanation)

2) Buy the lights yourself, and of coz the facelifted metal beams, and request any mech to install. Unscrew and rescrew.

3) No rear lights for ugly duckling. UNLESS YOU WANT TO CUT and Redone the rear.

4) What sport gauges you talking about ? if its the EL main dashboard. ITS VERY HARD. only sold in GC Motorsport. But it has stopped production. Heard only 100 units were made. Mine was the last unit. Other gauges are cheapos from Autobags.

5) BUMI is only BODYKIT SHOP. FIBRE ONLY also. every other things are done seperately.

6) New engine ? you must be very rich or sometihng. Where do you get the idea of transplanting a new engine ? Most engine transplants are from chop shop ie 2nd hand. Model ? AE111 model. 20V Black top 5 speed

7) Of coz JPJ approved, if not, I wouldn't have sold this car legally and with new Finance from new owner.

Hopefully this clear some of your q's. just my 2 cents;)

WoW, thanks for answering! Well i'm looking at your car now as a role model for my mods ;) ...hope you won't mind. Many questions cuz I've barely seen a modded 1997 SEG AE111.

Btw, more questions but not so important.

Do shops sell Recaro seats as a whole set? As in the the front and rear seats or only the front seats?

Are there any other means in getting nicer rear lights other than cutting the car in half and redoing the rear?

p.s : Your site seems to be down for now. It says the domain is on maintenance. =\
