Modded Savvy in the making!

savvy..
i got brainwashed
i'm getting one
i saw the blue savvy comes with white rims,is that so?
anywayz...i saw the rear...and wants suggestion
the exhaust TIP is at the centre...but the muffler is on the left...
so if next time mod exhaust, should use straight pipe and come out straight in the middle or put the muffler sideways?
also...oval tip(like savvy) nicer or dual tip (like wira 1.8)?

Bridge- Is that so? Well, im not certain, i test drove a Smart Forfour once and it was not up to the expectation. Maybe so you're right, certain car models may differ.

Dewa- Thnx bro for the publisity heheh. Well, i dont expect you guys to take back the comment you made on the car, i meant, it's truly different once you really do up a car isnt it. you might have drove a really bad looking car, a little cosmetics will take it quite far right? we'll meet up one day after the car is done, maybe then you could have a better look eh?

Vex- Haha, yea i know it's not really that great of a car. I'm not planning to go for any car show anyways  But i'll have more things to do up soon. It'll be my honour to drive around with you guys who really appreciate nice cars  Oh yea, i guess i wont be the pionner of a modded Savvy anyway. My friend have seen one when he was at an auto show in penang. tho it does not resemble my car in anyway... that's what makes it different eh?

Dougster- how unfortunate. well that wouldnt stop us from meeting up and share our interest on the beauty of our cars right? I'll be painting blue still... you'll see me when you see me heheh.

Alvin- i did it at this Swing Fibre in Serdang. I'll take you there if you wanna. we could arrange a date

whoa hehe never said ur car not nice man hehe i thought the savvy in general was not 2 good of a car, stock standard :) but you've MADE it into a real pimped-out ride la! i have no idea about the savvy engine/performance but i suppose the main negative thing on the consumers minds was the savvy not being up to par in terms of looks, but you have absolutely turned it around and I think you will really help proton out man and boost their p.savvy sales la! hahaha!

and who says u shouldn't go for autoshows?? U should be proud of ur savvy, it looks damn tricked out la! U should definitely exhibit it, u got my vote bro! keep it up ok?! keep us posted with more pics ya?

What's your opinion on this Savvy?
Nice concept. I like the add on archers you did ala Focus RS/WRC.

When are you gonna put updated pics.

What offset /width wheels are you goin to be using?

On the Savvy R3 Concept the car had 16x7 offset 40 and the car couldn't turn. Need narrower wheels and smaller tyres.

The bumper cut out should fit a big oval easily.

Whoa, didnt expect this would be sucha hot thread
Oh, a couple of minor notes, Savvy's R3 is using 16" not 15"... that answers most of you guys wondering how much could the car take up in size.

As for the SemiAuto aka AMT... I truly advice that to real car enthusiast to take the manual transmission. AMT is basically manual minus the hassle of a clutch pedal and which means it would truly be underpowered. When you initiate the gears, there would be a lag time as the computer would take a fraction of a second before the gears are really changed. Just a thought...

Tomorrow i'll go to see my "baby" I'll snap some pictures and post 'em tonite
Dude, The savvy R3 Concept at the launch was just that, a concept to gauge public reaction.

The tyres were 205/45 16" , which is fine for a display car but if you goinna be driving it around the best bet is 195/45 16.

There's a new technique to drive the AMT, similiar to the smart ForFour. When upshifting you should lift off , like you do with a manual tranny, then th eshift will be a bit faster. If you keep your foot down during upshift it lags like an autobox.

I've tested the older Selespeed and Citroen C2 AMT and generally find them to be more laggy than some torque converters. This is generally a problem with single-clutch AMT's. Even my ex-Kancil 850EZ had faster kickdown.

driving an AMT the way faisal has mentioned, there is noticeably less lag. its just a matter of getting used to driving it to get the best out of it.

but we have to remember, ultimately, the AMT has the edge over the auto, even with the lag, transmission loss is only slight compared to a full auto.

I did try the lift-off during upshifting, but still found the response time between the actual gear changing slower than expected. Blipping before manually downshifting also took a lot of getting used to. Perhaps ECU tuning of the "Full Auto" mode to engage the clutch less enthusiastically during normal driving will smoothen things out.

Anyway, I would really like a test drive in the Savvy AMT. Last Sat when I asked the reception at 3ASS if a car was available for test, they just shrugged and said, "next week". Which is the same response I got 2 months ago.
