it really depends on your budget. couple of things i'll add just to save you the trouble when inspecting the car:

1. be very careful with aftermarket knockoff bodykits as they are usually rivetted to body thus is plagued with nasty rusts. you will not notice but its there. get original kits as they bolt to existing body without intrusion.

2. ask owner questions. if he does not give you intelligent answers then ask yourself if he's even capable of mantaining the car.

good luck.

Don't worry dude. Not because of FD is not good. At least my reason of selling is because I am preparing for migration recently. Therefore, sad to say that I need to sell off my baby...sighs...

My friend Yap with the purple FD is selling his car because he need the money to invest into his food business.

hope to have you soon.

bring it to the track with us.... by that time... dev's car would have broken in....
and full potential ................ smoking M3 and the Diabos :)

er..... may i ask... if the FD somebody modify it already but then they sell at high price, is this legal price or they put it themself one? stock car should be more expensive right?
give me some of your opinions... i do love FD but now i am a student.... i want to know more about the FD quote price... thanks to those FD owners for giving me some of the politics knowledge..:_:

Im no FD owner but a simple rule of thumb is the general body condition, engine, rims and tires, interior and seats then comes accesories.

The more immaculate/very well maintained, the higher the value. If all that is standard and in good condition, Im sure the seller would like to pose a high price for maintaining it so well.

However when mods are done onto any part, it involves money and no one wants to loose money to a certain extend. So its only fair to seller to include the parts/mods cost into the selling price of the car. Its up to buyer to evaluate the overall cost and can he afford it (or does he/she want those mods in the first place). Its perfectly legal and nothing new about it.

Most of the time, sellers end up loosing money when selling their modded car or added with many accesories as the price becomes abit too high. Unless the buyer is willing to pay, its up to the seller to state the asking price.

hope that helps

that's so true.....

but bear in mind.... most of the FD are illegal :) as in... sure fail engine test.... because none of us did not touch at least the muffler.... the noise level had gone above the specs..... not to mention single turbos.... :)

easily when JPJ wants to check car or police spot check car engine... easily we're in trouble.. unless you have a paper from Puspakom that states you had passed the engine test. etc.... you're safe :) i have one :)

... what do you all mean by that... i mean the engine one... you say the engine is illegal? is that mean that the owner go and modified the engine ? then didnt got the approval from JPJ?

What's JPJ?

Also, what kind of things do they check for in those tests? Exhaust emissions/noise DB level, etc?

it's not illegal my friend. so long your engine number is the same as the grant and there is no alteration to the displacement you're fine. going single or double or triple if it gives you the jollies is fine so long you do not alter displacement. I have been inspected by jpj puspakom and have cerification for the car. they did not even ask bout the engine. All they said was "Enjin brother banyak kilat wooo" LOL

Mods depends on the car. The fd requires at least the following mods to stay reliable considering the age and purpose of the vehicle:

1. Radiator - Upgraded for better cooling
2. Intercooler - Better cooling to reduce knock
3. Hoses (all of course considering its been there since 1993)
4. Fuel pump mod (to ensure direct 12V) older cars have copper loss.
5. Metal AST (its plastic stock for gods sake)
6. Meters to monitor vitals.

These kind of modifications are necessary to ensure the car is drivable. If i was to buy the car again those are the basics i'd want.

Price is dependant on buyer that appreciates what you've done. i've seen guys tha have put in so much it doesn't make sense to sell.

oh... that means how we modified the engine also nvm de la? even more than 400 hp also no problem de la? just dont change the engine already can?
