Matspeed Performance Camshaft

Matspeed cams are not bad, but the fact is they are quite slow in finishing the job :( ...
 
well,

I used to own a GTi with 292/288 high cames on my GSR 4G93T. High boost @ 1.6 bar. They didn't do a good job for me le, as a matter of fact i left my car there for so long. But ofcourse again im only fitting my cams there as recommended by one of their workshop partners. Probably cause this was many years back when i do it. Maybe now they have already became more efficient. :) Cheers.
 
Not to sure, but i am quite sure they are able to custom for you as a matter of fact, They customize Cams for Proton cars... so i'm sure they have. But another thing is are this cams worth the buy ? Cause Cam shaft i think adds 30-40bhp for N/A car and how much horses is there on a 4g13 or 4g15 ? and if you change cams but you don't change piston, might as well don't waste your time. Cause i've tried fitting 292/288 cams as well on a 4g93p, yes it fast but i still loose to a stock b16a because i didn't fit my pistons but right after i've fited it, i was on par with a b16a stock or loose by half car. Maybe i think if win probably not much. Against a stock b16a after putting so much money into a 4g93p, i guess its not worth it rather buy a 4g93t at least you have some Gggg'ssss.... haha. Just a tip from me :P cheers guys.
 
To tink that cams give you 30-40 bhp for an NA car is just plain insane. Its not the pistons Kenny. Cams will very much more be affected by the performance of the cyclinder head ( A modded head will complement the cams much more than pistons ). Proper PnP and valve jobs are the way. Anyway on proton cars, cams that give out extra 10-15hp is already more than impressive.

Regarding cams, it can give u that much of bhp on a turbo. On the other hand ofcourse when i said pistons included ofcourse i your heads gotta be ported, crankshaft lighten, conrods all done. Regardles to say mate :) . What i am trying to say is without moded pistons you have CAMS and stock pistons are not quite good bro. Cam pulleys, valve springs all counts. Not sure if valve springs are included in Proton cars :P

Kenny 292/288 is very high for the 4g93, who recommend you those combo? Not suitabale lar, what valve spring did you use ? have you "lock up" your lifter ?

and how much did they charge for regrinding cam (give them stock cam to regrind) with or without installation ? (estimated price)

MATSPEED has been around since long time ago,way before i know which one is camshafts.hahahahha anyway,from my opinion they're good.No doubt.Performance wise....at par or maybe better than the afterrmarket tuner.Only that i heard here n there from ppl from other continents bout the downside of regrind cams.like aftermarket tuner they made it from plain rod to that form.so when it comes to reliability....is at one big question mark.But most of all....My biggest applause to Charlie and MATSPEED for being the "radical" and "outside the box" tuner.just my 2 cents.
 
charlie is reallly good at his job.......but u have to give him time to finish it.....the end product will be as good as he promised it will be......i sent him my bmw cam for reprofilling.........and i can feel the difference right after installating.....it back into the head.....:regular_smile:

Have you dyno your 4G93? Are you sure you can be on par with a b16a???
 
anybody or somebody expert with matspeed mivec cam?
can talk about the best cam profile for mivec.(low cam and high cam)
how many degree for the cam can regrind,it is 310 degree for mivec
