After over 1000 votes in less than a week of 5 available petrol brands available here in Malaysia, results clearly illustrate the automotive enthusiast's favourite pumps. While it's surprising that more than half the votes went to Shell, it's interesting to know, the top most established brand in Malaysia, Petronas didn't receive the votes it seem to deserve. We'd like to hear more from you, do post your reasons of choice and findings of the fuels.

This is not a paid advertisement and the poll was ran here

petronas ftw. Because it's a local company. They are the biggest (i think) contributor to our economy after all. So guys, try to use petronas if possible

I vouch for ESSO/Mobil.... empirically, all brands gave me the same feeling... it's just that ESSO/Mobil Smile Card gave them the edge.... I can redeem points for petrol when times are hard

....btw, using Synergy 5000 (RON95) for my turbocharge 4cyl kancil...

I hope there is an independent testing of the different brands of fuel in terms of their performance and fuel economy. As for my, I FEEL Esso and Petronas is better than Shell, but I use Shell only for the sake of Bonuslink points.

My car pings/knocks on shell even though its the same ron. Vpower racing wasn't much help either hence why i stick to petronas. Problem is not all petronas has 97.

Re: Malaysia's Favourite Petrol as voted by Zerotohundred.com's Readers - Not a paid

don't know y the results shows shell is more popular than petronas, but feedback more to petronas is better:hmmmm:
for me i prefer shell coz i feel using shell is more economic rather than petronas.....V power racing gives me more feel on the power n more km:biggrin:
& 1 more thing, petronas claiming that their fuel ron 95 is more economic, but in their ads they use BMW as the sample,so for me it means that ron 95 petronas only suits for those high class car,but not my 20yrs old car:biggrin:

Random Post Every 5 Minutes

I am very sensitive when it comes to knocking. I can't even tolerate a bit as I am afraid that it will cause serious damage to my engine. I myself am running retarded ignition with very much reduced knocking (still got a bit) on my 4AGE Blacktop.

However, I have friends who run on standard or even advanced ignition and asked me not to worry. I have test driven their cars and it knocks severely! It's difficult to even go 30% throttle at lower revs. Knocks very loud. But he said it's no...
