Hi all, It's my first time venturing this deep into a money pit commitment, I drive a Gen IV BEAMS swapped ST202 on and off for the past 7 years as a weekend car and it has been kind to my ownership experience so far after the swap, but I started hearing knocking/piston slap after a misfire happened during one of my spirited driving sessions and The engine eventually died when idling.

I've secured a place to work on my car so I could pull the engine out and just send the engine alone to the builder, any recommendations on builders who are well verse in Toyota/Yamaha GE engines and could source parts too from the veterans still around here?

What I know of right now to achieve a 5S-Stroker build of various rod ratio variations: (need specialist advice in regards of cam interference, I want to keep my VVT-I and 11:1 compression ratio)

87.1mm ~ 87.5mm pistons (custom or 2JZ sized aftermarket pistons)
aftermarket 3SGTE rods OR custom conrods with different crown to pin height if using 2JZ dimension pistons
prepped 5S-FE crank (I am quite concern about the presence of balancing shaft assembly and different oil sump/oil pickups.)

Quite urgent, Any feedback and advice will be appreciated thanks.

That's an immaculate celica you have there, good stuff,

Have you tried Wing Hin Motorsports Balakong? They have been racing Toyotas a long time and are experienced in building race engines

Wow, never expected the founder of this site actually responded to my thread!

Didn't even cross my mind. Aren't they a Works Team? I've been to their spare part dealer beside Jln Loke Yew but I don't know they have other business venues with open door policy to outside customers.

Hey always happy to help where possible

You're right, wing Hin mostly do their own projects but I think they may be able to assist in special cases like yours, or direct you to people who can, it's worth a try contacting the top guy there 0123727217 Bee / Chua, good luck in getting the Celica up and running, looking forward to the progress
