hi there all...

im actually looking for aluminium radiator to make my FD cooling system more efficient.. but my budget does not allow me to get a new one... its my everyday car and i dont want to blow my engine again because of overheating...

pls, is there anyone selling and pls name your price... u can pm me ...

tq

I'm driving my FD almost everyday with stock rad. and I do not have over heating problem so far.

Here's my formula, 1 bottle of water wetter, 1 or 1 1/2 bottle of Toyota coolant and top up with batt water. Also my rad. fan is modded to blow at 85dc. You can also get the fan controller device to control the fan. Hmmm maybe you want to flush your rad. before you before you apply my formula. :_: Good luck...

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Jason X

Redline water wetter can get in One U, Enos. Toyota coolan, you have to source it out yourself. May KL RE members can let you know...

good advice jason. you can get water wetter at N1 in sunway and toyota long life coolant from spareparts shops in kl. i get my coolant from OUG.

thanks guys...really appreciate it.. besides... RE amemiya really coming to kl is it?... my car stock but have la like filter , exhaust and microtech... do u think they will tune it ka... how much will it cost la?... scary..

hercules79.... like jason mention... stock rad does a good job in keeping the temperature down. you just need to make sure everything inside the engine is okay like o-rings etc.. else even if u have a freakin huge radiator, the O rings give way and you'll have a blown motor again.

mine i'm running stock rads as well. the power i'm putting on is quite amazing. there's another member called eric, he's on single turbo front mounted his stock rad.. same goes to raj as well... all of us are on stock rad... we did not have over heating problem.

They don't tune microtech and yes, price is very scary......

Stock rad is ok to a certain limit. please remember the stock rad has plastic end tanks which after time deteriorate with our engine heat and crack. I will not reccomend using stock rad for those upping power because your car will only be as realible as the weakes link in the system.

very true....
mine cracked before once....mine crack at the center of radiator.. god knows how it happen...
just keep an eye on your water level and also your water temp(aftermarket). don't rely on the water temp on your stock dashboard meters.

chun beng with the amount you've spent on your car just buy a copper one from frc. ask glen, i believe he got a very good price for it.

i believe your car would be rocking with the things being done. With the new turbo's you'd be spooling very fast. I was very suprised with your earlier turbo so i can only imagine now. Good luck bro.

Glen got one ? hmmmm interesting....
there isn't any budget allocated at the moment.. just came back from a week in taipei vacation...

i'll put that in a wishing list... at the moment, the temperature isn't too woried.. it's being monitored. this weekend will put the car on test if it able to withstand the power i'm putting vs temperature of my water.

dev, the power is no match to yours... but with portings and newer turbos and better compression... it is a significant difference... today i'm going to push the boost up from 0.7 to 0.8... increase a little fuel... get a little extra power from there. :)

good job mate. tuning is the key to reliable engine.

to everyone that's listening...
tune the car based on what you have in the engine.
don't tune it above what the radiator or turbo can withstand...

treat your car as a very high profile materialistic gf....lube her nicely... and you and her will be happy. :P use the correct lube.
