i got a fren working in the auto spareparts supplier, selling local made parts.

he said that if local part are cheap as what we know now, actually the cost of making the local parts are even cheaper....

Imagine part A is sold to consumer is RM20.
Original manufacturing cost of Part A is just RM3.
The profit margin is damn big.

No wonder the spare part shops bosses drive Merc, wife drive SUV, etc...

If the businessman wants more profit, just reduce the quality of material used in the parts....Use low quality resin, etc. Use cheapo plastic clips than Stainless. Plastic everything. No wonder all those local made auto part disintegrate so fast.....esp. when expose to hellish sun in malaysia.

That's true to some extent. There are good local manufacturers like Schmaco. These guys make quite good quality local parts. But they don't manufacture for all models.

Recently just replaced the kelisa mounting from Schmaco brand. Alza's mounting. Seems stronger and longer lifespan and also better steering feel than stock Kelisa.

I went but not those really CHOPPED ones.
I went those that are thrown aside of the road.

Ok. Now I need a Persona Elegance fender first.
What I found out is, local made ones are only for the pre-facelifted model which has signal holes in it. Sigh.
Ori is RM110 vs Local made RM75. Unpainted of course.

Nowadays many version woh! Used to be big ones with Giant Rackings stacked up very high. Recently was in Manja area, they use shop house only, try to stuff them into the shop. :hmmmm:
