As if the KTM X-Bow wasn’t hardcore enough, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer has decided to launch a 300hp version of its track-focused sports car and a track-oriented pack.

Weight for the bare-to-bones track machine still stands at 790kg and power is still sourced from the Audi 2-liter TFSI four-banger that pushes out 240hp. For the 2011 year though, KTM is planning an ‘R’ model with an additional 60hp courtesy of the same engine but with tweaked electronics and engine peripherals sourced from the Audi S3 with 300hp.

Furthermore, two trims will be made available, a road-legal homologated ‘Sports’ package and a track-focused ‘Race’ kit. Most of the parts that go into the 2011 models will be available through KTM’s parts catalogue so some of the existing 500 or so X-Bow owners can upgrade their current cars.
