This gives us something to think about with all our new electronic technology - GPS
A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken into while they were at a football match. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans.

Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard.

When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen. The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house.

The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean up the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents.

MOBILE PHONE

I never thought of this.......
This lady has now changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card,wallet...etc... Was stolen.

20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your text Asking about our Pin number and I've replied a little while ago.' When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn.

The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account.

this device used to clone another remote alarm as a spare remote alarm
some key maker do have such device at some shoppping complex
the device can read the original remote alarm code and copy to an empty remote alarm
done this b4 but later on feel insecure so changed my whole alarm system after 2 weeks haha

The 'cloner' at key shop cannot use at a distance to copy a freq. of alarm remote.
It must be side by side or very near.

The one the theif use is with anttena...it can copy/capture the frequency when you press/activate you alarm frm a distance... but actually also cannot to far.(will capture all freq.)
It is just a "simple" record and playback method....

Some good alarms will always automatic & randomly change it's freq... These type will be difficult to "capture".

My ideas to counter this .... make your remote weaker if the theif wan to copy your freq, he
needs to be near you (stick a small piece of metallic tape at the
back of your remote, too big will not function...)
.....key lock use key, alarm use remote...(hari hujan susah lah)
For the laptop/battery device detector- If really need to let laptop in car(may g/f pictures and
videos inside), always remove the battery.


How to beat high tech? Use some low tech comman sense, then you will be the minority... hopefully save...
e.g ATM, credit card, Internet banking all have been clone or broken into....

For ATM...well just my theory, have 2 banking accounts, same bank.(up to you)
1 A/C is for savings and other incomes---> NO ATM CARD!!
1 A/C is for salary--> but keep minimun amount for daily/weekly use- Have ATM card.
When salary comes, interbanking to transfer the savings portion to the non-atm
card a/c/. Then if card gets stolen or cloned... loss is less.
Credit cards.. low limits, instruct bank to call if transaction is over certain limit set by you & etc

For internet banking...go with banks that have for additional security features...e.g HSBC beside password, need to input security number generated for a security device issued to you by bank..
Which other bank have this??? Not too sure....
Always use your own PC for transaction with virus software updated....

In conclusion... nothing is really safer. We can only make it more difficult/complex/time consuming for a theif/robber/whatever to steal our hard earn $$$$$ & car.

random car alarm freq/code hopping: got Viper alarm and suscribed SAT tracker..checked

laptop/battery device detector: had removed battery and hide inside boot...checked

ATM: yes.. have 2 diff account...1st acc oni 'masuk wang' w/o ATM card and monthly 'auto transfer' some amount money to 2nd acc which for 'cucuk wang' oni...checked

credit card: despite gold car, max is 5k...checked

internet banking: hell no.. i dun trust online banking....checked

unlike our forefathers days, the world isnt safe anymore....
